Week 10 Notes:

Little Movement in Rankings for Week 10

Oregon, Alabama, Baylor and Stanford were idle this week, leaving all top six rankings unchanged.

As expected, #7 Miami was steamrolled by Florida State, 14-14, dropping the Hurricanes from the ranks of the unbeaten and down to #18. The Seminoles remained at #4.

UCF, Louisville, Oklahoma and BYU were also idle this week, but all moved up due to losses by #13 Michigan (6-2), who were completely stymied by Michigan State, 29-6, #14 Texas Tech (7-2), a 52-34 loser at Oklahoma State, and #17 Virginia Tech (6-3), dropping out of the rankings with their second loss in as many weeks.

Michigan State took over Miami's vacated #7 position, leapfrogging both Fresno State and Northern Illinois, who both were winners, though the level of their competition will probably limit them to their current spots - #8 and 9,m respectively.

Rounding out the top ten was 8-1 Clemson, back on track for the second straight week, a 59-10 routing of Virginia.

#15 Texas hammered Kansas, 35-13; #16 Wisconsin rallied late to upend Iowa, 28-9; #20 Texas A&M (7-2) whalloped UTEP, 57-7; #21 South Carolina, also 7-2, handled Mississippi State, 34-16.

UCLA returned to the rankings at #24, with a 45-23 win over Colorado.
