--- Week 2 Notes below ---

Week 2 Notes:

Creampuffs For Some, Disaster for Others

While many of the top teams played creampuff opposition, other teams were not so fortunate, those being Michigan - hammered mercilessly by Notre Dame, 31-0, Stanford - stopped by USC, 13-10 - Ohio State - overwhelmed by Virginia Tech, 35-21 - and, Michigan State, upended by a vigorous second half rally and defensive stand by the Oregon Ducks, 46-27.

Those, and Week 1 losers, South Carolina, UCF and Wisconsin all have been eliminated from the Top 25, for the time being. The Gamecocks and Badgers both rebounded from their previous-week losses, while UCF was idle.

It's still too early to put teams with one or more losses into the rankings. The next few weeks will surely sort out others and allow good teams to re-enter.
