Fearless Rick's NFL Football Picks - Week 5 late games
All times Eastern
Atlanta at Denver (-5 1/2, 47), 4:05 (FOX) - Denver's four-game unbeaten streak may be at an end, with the red-hot Falcons coming to town. Atlanta leads the league in scoring at 152 points (though they've allowed a whopping 124) and even Denver's exceptional defense may not be capable of slowing them down.
This should be a fun one, with plenty of highlight-reel potential and maybe a bounty of turnovers.
Coin Flip: Atlanta
Prediction: Falcons 27 Broncos 23
The intrigue is how well rookie QB Dak Prescott will fare against one of the better defenses in the league. Dallas' three wins have come against the Redskins, Bears, and 49ers, so this is a step up.
Cincinnati has not been very productive on offense, scoring just 19.5 points per outing (24th), almost precisely what the Cowboys are allowing (19.3). It's a pick and a home game for an improved Cowboy team which should prevail in a tight one.
Coin Flip: Dallas
Prediction: Cowboys 21 Bengals 18
Figure on the Bills to find the end zone a couple of times, and make the Rams settle for field goals more often in a winning road effort.
Coin Flip: Los Angeles
Prediction: Bills 20 Rams 16
Despite the game being played in Oakland, giving an explosive offense such as San Diego's more than a field goal is probably not a prudent move.
Coin Flip: San Diego
Prediction: Raiders 34 Chargers 31
Green Bay had last week off, but they're 2-1 going in and hoping to keep pace with the Vikings. The Packers may pile up points and picks galore.
Coin Flip: Green Bay
Prediction: Packers 41 Giants 20
Tampa Bay at Carolina (-5 1/2, 46), 8:30 (ESPN) - Cam Newton, Carolina QB, is out, but the 1-3 Panthers are still decided favorites at home against a divisional foe. Derek Anderson will start and he's 2-0 as a starter with both wins coming against Tampa Bay in 2014.
That seems an odd coincidence, and unlikely to continue. Siding with the underdog with a healthy quarterback may prove a logical, if not prescient choice. Few real upsets this week, but Monday night may deliver a stunner.
Coin Flip: Carolina
Prediction: Buccaneers 23 Panthers 21

WEEK 5 NFL Picks- late games
Cincinnati at Dallas (even, 45 1/2), 4:25 (CBS) - This should be one of the bast games of the week and suitable for a national audience as both the Bengals and Cowboys have gotten off to solid starts, especially the Cowboys, winners of three straight.
Buffalo at Los Angeles (-2 1/2, 40), 4:25 (CBS) - Buffalo is back to being a competitive squad after topping Arizona and New England back-to-back, but the Rams have won three straight, primarily due to an oppressive defense that held the Cardinals to just 13 points last week as they improved to 3-1.
San Diego at Oakland (-4 1/2, 50), 4:25 (CBS) - Nothing more than a classic Western shoot-out here with Derek Carr gunning for the Raiders against the Chargers' proven pro, Phillip Rivers.
NY Giants at Green Bay (-7, NL), 8:30 (NBC) - The Giants may prove to be one of the worst teams of the 2016 season, and they're coming off a 24-10 loss to the Vikings, and are playing their second road game in succession.
