6:30 pm Memphis at UCF (-3, 69) - Memphis struggled with Louisiana-Monroe in a 37-29 win at home, so their start was not auspicious, except the fact that their defense needs work.
Central Florida rolled FIU, 61-17, so let's put that in perspective. The kids are probably believing in themselves and happy they're get win #2 in the books before the hurricane comes. Big win in store for the Knights.
Coin Flip: Central Florida
Prediction: Knights 48 Tigers 17
Oklahoma State is ranked and even though this game will be on the South Alabama campus, there's no discounting the talent on Oklahoma State. They hammered Tulsa, 59-24, in their opener last week and should be more than ready for this. 28 points will be covered by the end of the third quarter.
Coin Flip: South Alabama
Prediction: Cowboys 52 Jaguars 17
12:00 pm Cincinnati at #8 Michigan (-34 1/2, 48 1/2) - The Wolverines took it to Florida last week pretty well (33-17), while the Bearcats were erratic, beating Austin Peay, 26-14. The question is how many times will the Wolverines score? Guessing it will be a whole bunch.
Coin Flip: Michigan
Prediction: Wolverines 49 Bearcats 7
Louisville's unimpressive, 35-28 home win over Purdue included three Louisville fumbles and three picks off Purdue, one run back 61 yards for a Louisville TD.
Neither team has much in the way of defense, so, getting 10 points at home is pretty good if you like Carolina's chances.
Coin Flip: North Carolina
Prediction: Cardinals 34 Tar Heels 30
Last year's contest was at Ames, with the Hawkeyes taking a 42-3 decision. Of course, Iowa State would go 3-9 on the year, not their best showing. They're a little better, but Iowa is still good enough to win this one.
Coin Flip: Iowa State
Prediction: Hawkeyes 30 Cyclones 17
The Pirates have a way of upsetting ACC teams, or at least scaring them consistently over the years, but West Va. is in the Big 12. Does it matter? However, James Madison mauled East Carolina, 34-14, last week, so maybe they aren't quite ready for prime time? East Carolina was 3-9 last season, but one of those wins was at NC State (33-30). These pirates will be up for a scrum, and West Virginia isn't exactly expert on defense.
Taking a shot with the Pirates isn't the worst thing one could do here.
Coin Flip: West Virginia
Prediction: Mountaineers 42 Pirates 26

8:00 pm #11 Oklahoma State (-28, 66 1/2) at South Alabama - Having chosen to be a punching bag the first two weeks of the season, the Jaguars deserve what they get here, hosting the Cowboys after taking a beating by Ole Miss, 47-27.
Saturday, September 9
12:00 pm #17 Louisville (-10, 62) at North Carolina - A very interesting game in store here after the Tar Heels were taken down by Cal, 35-30 and stay home for an important ACC game. Carolina surely learned some things in that loss which will help keep them focused on the Cardinals.
12:00 pm Iowa (-2 1/2, 48) at Iowa State - Always a treat, this in-state, out0of-conference match-up has the makings of a good one. Iowa comes into the game off a workmanlike, 24-3, whipping of Wyoming, while the Cyclones twisted Northern Iowa, 42-24.
12:00 pm East Carolina at West Virginia (-24, 66) - Hard to believe the size of the line here considering the Mountaineers took it on the chin at home against Virginia Tech last week, 31-24.
