1:00 pm Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-1 1/2, 51 1/2) - Make sure to note that all the 1:00 NFC games have no bearing on the playoffs. With that in mind, who really cares about this one. The Bucs have been awful all season, but the Falcons may have been the most disappointing tam in the NFL. Let's take a shot with the home team.

New England is undefeated at home this season, so they're likely to keep that record intact. Last time these two teams met, the Pats won, 27-13, but that game was in New York. Expect a larger margin of victory here and a first week playoff bye for the Patriots.

1:00 pm Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints (-7 1/2, 43 1/2) - The Saints have already wrapped up home field throughout the playoffs, so expect most of the starters to get lots of rest here. The Panthers are going with Kyle Allen at QB, so their chances are compromised as well. This one is for the truly desperate. Take the Saints.
1:00 pm Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants (-6, 41 1/2) - The Cowboys can't move up in the seedings for the playoffs. They're the NFC East champs, so this game means nothing to them. The Giants are 5-10, and they'd probably like one more win (unless they're thinking about the draft). Confused? Sure.
1:00 pm Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers (-8, 45) - Neither team is going to be playing in January, but Aaron Rodgers is committed to starting at QB. How long he'll stay in is anybody's guess. Probably, he'll sit out if the Packers are up by two TDs, which is a very likely event. BTW: the Lions suck.
1:00 pm Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans (-7 1/2, 40 1/2) - This game actually has some meaning, as the Texans can grab a first week bye with a win and a New England loss, which is why the Patriots-Jets game is being played at the same time. Jacksonville still has a solid defense, but the Texans have something to gain, so they should be enthusiastic about this game.
1:00 pm Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills (-3 1/2, 38 1/2) - Another stinker. Miami can get to .500 with a win, but the Bills would probably like to get another good effort out of their QB, Josh Allen. Players in this game are looking forward to next season, but the Bills may be the better team at this juncture.
1:00 pm New York Jets at New England Patriots (-13 1/2, 45 1/2) - New England would win a tie-breaker with Houston if they both win or both lose this week, because the Pats whipped the Texans, 27-20, in week one.
