NCAA College Football Week 10 Picks - Late Games
NCAA Week 10 Late Games
All times Eastern
4:00 pm #9 Utah (-3 1/2, 47 1/2) at Washington - While Washington is just 5-3, their losses have been mostly close calls, outside of the 28-14 stunner USC put on them at the end of September. A 20-19 loss to Cal, and their last game, a 35-31 defeat to Oregon, prove that the Huskies can meet any challenge. A win here would bolster their bowl opportunities, but the Utes are a very solid team, leading the PAC-12 in defense and with a 7-1 record, still an outside chance at a national championship.
Utah's only loss was a 30-23 defeat by USC. They've on four straight by very convincing margins and have allowed just 10 points in their last three contests. The Utes are primed and ready to roll.
Coin Flip: Utah
Prediction: Utes 28 Huskies 20
Coin Flip: Ole Miss
Prediction: Tigers 34 Rebels 20
The Bearcats should romp here. They've beaten UCF, Tulsa, and Houston in their last three games. This one should be much easier.
Coin Flip: Cincinnati
Prediction: Bearcats 42 Pirates 10
SMU should solve the Memphis defense and win by a touchdown.
Coin Flip: SMU
Prediction: Mustangs 38 Tigers 31
USC's losses have come against BYU, Washington, and Notre Dame, some tough customers, so this team, winners of their last two, should come into this affair with confidence. The Ducks have a commanding lead in the North division, and, with just one loss, an outside chance at making the national championship final four. At home, USC can bring an upset. Big possibility for overtime here.
Coin Flip: USC
Prediction: Trojans 30 Ducks 27
Boise State dropped from #14 all the way to #21 due to their only loss of the season. They've got plenty to prove to the voters and themselves. Winning on the road is never easy and the Spartans may have enough offensive firepower to keep Bronco defenders on their toes.
Coin Flip: Bise State
Prediction: Broncos 35 Spartans 27

Week 10 Early Games
7:00 pm Ole Miss at #11 Auburn (-19 1/2, 52 1/2) - Ole Miss shouldn't be taken too lightly here at Auburn. The Rebels have lost their last two, but they were not blown out at Missouri (38-27) or at home against Texas A&M (24-17). Auburn's defense is likely the key to victory. Losses at Florida (24-13) and LSU (23-20) show they can be scored upon and the Mississippi defense may be able to limit the Tigers' scoring opportunities. An outright win by the Rebels would be a huge upset, but they're likely to keep this one interesting or score a meaningless TD late to upend the spread.
7:00 pm #17 Cincinnati (-23 1/2, 46) at East Carolina - The Bearcats have possibly the best team in the American Athletic conference and a big win here is expected. East Carolina has declined over the past few years, to their current 3-5 record and they appear to be sliding through a non-bowl eligible season. Even though this game is on the road, where Cincinnati is 2-1, the one loss came at Ohio State, where the Bearcats were humbled, 42-0, in their second game of the season.
7:30 pm #15 SMU at #24 Memphis (-5 1/2, 70) - Who do you like? The Mustangs are undefeated at 8-0 and trail only UFC in scoring, conference-wide. Their defense is on a par with the Tigers, who are 7-1 and looking to grab an advantage in the American AthleticWest division. The sole Memphis loss was a 30-28 squeaker at Temple on October 12. They've since defeated Tulane and Tulsa, though their 42-41 win against the Golden Hurricane exposed some defensive deficiencies.
8:00 pm #7 Oregon (-4 1/2, 62 1/2) at USC - Oregon is on track for their eighth straight win, but USC can put up a challenge to the conference's second-best defense (Utah has allowed 10.1 points on average). The Trojans are 5-3, but 4-1 in conference play and is tied with the Utes for the top position in the PAC-12 South, but they beat the Utes, 30-23 back in September, so hold a tie-breaker in terms of the division championship.
10:30 pm #21 Boise State (-17, 59 1/2) at San Jose State - Punished severely in the rankings following their 28-25 defeat at BYU, the Broncos look to make amends at San Jose State, where the Spartans are 4-4 but just 1-3 in the Mountain West.
