4:00 pm - Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia: #4 Georgia vs. #2 LSU (-7, 54 1/2) - Georgia's only loss was a flukey, 20-17 double OT defeat at the hands of South Carolina. Since then, they've been perfect rolling to six straight wins, including a 24-17 win over Florida and a 21-14 victory at Auburn. With Auburn beating Alabama last week, that elevates Georgia's win. They have all the elements of being a national champion, but first they'll have to prove it over LSU. QB Jake Fromm is their weapon of choice. He's been nearly flawless all season, makes smart decisions and plays within the parameters of the game. He will keep the Bulldogs in this one, as will their very effective defense, which has recorded three shutouts this season and are second nationally in points allowed, at 10.4 per game.

12-0 LSU defeated Alabama, 46-41, in what was probably the best game of the college season, capturing the West division of the SEC. They also defeated ranked opponents, Texas, 45-38, Florida, 42-28, and Auburn, 23-20. With Joe Burrow behind center, the LSU offense is fearsome. He and Fromm are likely to be drafted very high, so this game could be a precursor to some quality NFL battles in the future. What separates the Tigers from the Bulldogs is defense. LSU was well down the list, allowing 22.1 points per game, and that may be their fatal flaw. Georgia's offense is good enough to sustain drives, and the LSU-Alabama game proved that teams can go up and down the field on the Tigers. If it comes down to a close game late, figure on Georgia to either score the game-winner or hold of LSU as the clock winds down.

Coin Flip: LSU

Prediction: Bulldogs 33 Tigers 30

4:00 pm Albertsons Stadium, Boise, Idaho: Hawaii at #19 Boise State (-13 1/2, 64 1/2) - The Mountain west didn't get much love from the coaches or writers this season, as the Broncos rolled to an 11-1 mark, breezing through conference play with an 8-0 record. Still, they're ranked only #19. Their only blemish was a 28-25 loss at Brigham Young back in October. That came just a week after they ran over the Rainbow Warriors, 59-37, and they did that with a second string QB, as was their loss at BYU.

While Boise's defense isn't exactly top shelf, they don't need to be. The offense should be able to score almost at will against Hawaii. In fact, their 59 points in their previous engagement was Boise State's high total for the season. This is not a good match-up for the 9-4 Warriors. They were blown out by Washington and Air Force. Their other loss was a 41-38 home defeat to Fresno State.

Noting that 21-point win earlier in the season, it's safe to say that Boise State should dominate.

Coin Flip: Hawaii

Prediction: Broncos 48 Rainbow Warriors 30

7:30 pm Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina: #23 Virginia vs. #3 Clemson (-28, 55) - Clemson tore through the ACC this season, leading, by wide margins, in points scored (370, 543 overall) and allowed (84, 121 overall). The are, without a doubt the class of the conference.

Virginia captured the Coastal division in the final week, upending Virginia Tech, 39-31, and returning to the Top 25 rankings for the first time since their 35-20 loss at Notre Dame. The 9-3 Cavaliers hit a speed bump mid-season, when they lost three of four, losing at Notre Dame, Miami, and Louisville. They did well to get to this point, but it ends here, against the Tigers, who lead the nation in points allowed (10.1 per game).

Other than a scary 21-20 win at North Carolina, no team has even come close to beating the Tigers. Each of their last six wins were by 35 points or more.

Coin Flip: Clemson

Prediction: Tigers 45 Cavaliers 10

8:00 pm Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana: #1 Ohio State (-16 1/2, 56 1/2) vs. #8 Wisconsin - The Badgers did well to get to this game, but their only hope of winning is to outscore the Buckeyes because there's no chance of containing the Ohio State offense, even for part of a quarter.

That's unlikely to happen, because Ohio State also has one of the best, if not THE best, defenses in the country. They've he'd opponents to 11.8 points per game, and that's only because Michigan scored 27 last week, while the Buckeyes put up 56. The other high scores against the 12-0 Buckeyes was 21, by Rutgers and Florida Atlantic. Ohio State held seven different opponents to 10 points or less.

Coin Flip: Wisconsin

Prediction: Buckeyes 45 Badgers 17
