NCAA College Football Week 7 Picks - Late Games
NCAA Week 7 Late Games
All times Eastern
3:30 pm #1 Alabama (-16 1/2, 62) at Texas A&M - The Aggies will come to play, though this is not a game they can realistically expect to win. They've already fallen to Clemson (24-10) and Auburn (28-20) and have games at Georgia and LSU to close out the season. That's a tough schedule and certain to take its toll on coaches and players.
5-0 Alabama hasn't skipped a beat and they are third nationally in points, scoring 51.8 per game. The Aggies aren't going to be able to contain them and the Tide defense will continue to improve and improvise each week. Having taken the #1 spot in both polls away from Clemson in week 6, the Crimson Tide is rolling.
Coin Flip: Alabama
Prediction: Crimson Tide 42 Aggies 13
Last year, the Tigers smashed the Seminoles, 52-10, in Florida, and the 'Noles are 1-5 on the road this season and last. If the Seminoles can get a few stops early, they'll hang around and make this not a complete blowout.
Coin Flip: Florida State
Prediction: Tigers 35 Seminoles 16
Wisconsin is a different animal, one based largely on pounding the opposition to death via the running game and Heisman candidate, Jonathan Taylor. The Badgers can run up the score if the defense doesn't at least contain the running game some of the time, but the Spartans will be lucky to lose this game by just two TDs.
Coin Flip: Wisconsin
Prediction: Badgers 31 Spartans 18
The Irish can't afford to look past this game at their next opponent, at Michigan, but, it they stay focused, they should dominate the line of scrimmage and run over and through the Trojan defense.
USC has been up and don, 3-2, with losses on the road to BYU, 30-27 OT, and Washington, 28-14, last week.
Coin Flip: USC
Prediction: Fighting Irish 27 Trojans 13
Penn State remains undefeated, last week slugging Purdue, 35-7, to go to 5-0. Their defense is quite possibly the best in the nation, allowing a measly 7.4 points per game. Unless Iowa can find a way to manufacture some scoring, the Nittany Lions are going to run away with this.
Coin Flip: Iowa
Prediction: Nittany Lions 20 Hawkeyes 10
It will be interesting to see if the LSU juggernaut can be slowed down. If any team can do it, it would be the Gators. Texas was the only team to come close to beating the Tigers, in a 45-38 LSU win. LSU is 5-0, Florida, 6-0. Huge game in which Florida could upset.
Coin Flip: Florida
Prediction: Gators 23 Tigers 20
Utah has a nice blend of offensive and defensive skill players, which is why they are likely to vie for the PAC-12 South title. This is a game they should win, and big.
Coin Flip: Utah
Prediction: Utes 38 Beavers 20

Week 7 Early Games
3:30 pm Florida State at #2 Clemson (-27, 60 1/2) - Clemson is clearly the class of the ACC, again, though their offense has been spotty at times. What will benefit them here is Florida State's slipshod defense, among the worst in the conference, though the seem to be improving and the offense isn't turning the ball over now that Alex Hornibrook is back at QB.
3:30 pm Michigan State at #8 Wisconsin (-10, 40) - The good news for the Spartans is that they held Ohio State (4th in scoring, 49.3 points per game) to 34 points. The bad news is that Michigan State only scored 10 in last week's loss to the Buckeyes.
7:30 pm USC at #9 Notre Dame (-11, 57 1/2) - To almost nobody's surprise, the Fighting Irish are in pursuit of a trip to college football's final four, the championship tournament. Putting up 41 points a game, QB Ian Book has Notre Dame poised to finish out the year with just the one loss to Georgia, 23-17 on September 21. Notre Dame is allow just a shade under 15 points per outing.
7:30 pm #10 Penn State (-3, 41 1/2) at #17 Iowa - This will be a whale of a game in the Big Ten. 4-1 Iowa is sorely in need of a victory after losing a tough one to Michigan last week, 10-3. Their defense is outstanding (under nine points per game), but the offense isn't firing on all cylinders.
8:00 pm #7 Florida at #5 LSU (-13, 54 1/2) - The Gators were underestimated against Auburn and they burned the Tigers last week, 24-13, with some of the best defensive plays of the season. This is a very gutsy team that will not quit and finds ways to move the ball on offense.
8:00 pm #15 Utah (-13 1/2, 60) at Oregon State - The 2-3 Beavers have some offensive firepower, but are very limited on defense, which is going to be a problem hosting the Utes, whose only loss was a 30-23 upset at USC.
