7:00 pm Philadelphia Eagles at Jacksonville Jaguars (-3, 35) - While the Eagles looked rather disinterested in their 27-10 home loss to the Titans last week, the Jaguars were simply dysfunctional, shut out at Baltimore, 29-0.
In what should be a low-scoring affair, the Eagles should prevail, handily.
Coin Flip: Jacksonville
Prediction: Eagles 24 Jaguars 6
Coin Flip: Atlanta
Prediction: Falcons 34 Jets 20
Give the homies an edge here, simply because Aaron Rodgers won't be playing more than a quarter.
Coin Flip: Green Bay
Prediction: Ravens 21 Packers 14
The Bengals are clearly in rebuilding mode. There will be many new faces on the field and some may miss assignments, making life a little easier for the Redskin offense.
Coin Flip: Cincinnati
Prediction: Redskins 24 Bengals 13
Coach Gruden won't accept a season like last year, and will probably have the Raiders at least at .500 this time around. The Cardinals are also a team looking to get better, and rookie QB Kyler Murray will get more playing time, making this a tough choice. Arizona's defense was notable in last week's 17-13 win over the Chargers.
Coin Flip: Arizona
Prediction: Cardinals 23 Raiders 17
7:00 pm Buffalo Bills at Carolina Panthers (-3, 40) - Odd as it may seem, these two teams held some joint practices leading up to this contest. That should probably benefit both defenses, having seen some of the formations of their foes.
The Bills and Panthers were both winners last week, but Buffalo has more players looking to make their marks, and should prove to be the better-prepared squad.
Coin Flip: Buffalo
Prediction: Bills 20 Panthers 16
The Giants scored four TDs and had two picks against the Jets last week, winning, 31-22, but beating the Jets is no big deal. Chicago should come to play this week and their defense may smother New York's offense.
Coin Flip: Chicago
Prediction: Bears 26 Giants 13
Miami will take advantage, having put up 34 points on the Falcons last week, though they also surrendered 27. This may come down to a late field goal, so take Miami with with points.
Coin Flip: Tampa Bay
Prediction: Dolphins 34 Buccaneers 31

Week 2 late Games
7:30 pm New York Jets at Atlanta Falcons (-1 1/2, 44 1/2) - Atlanta is already 0-2, having lost to Denver in the Hall of Fame game and last week, at Miami, 34-27. This being their first home game, look for Matt Ryan to make some connections against a shaky Jets' secondary and roll late for the win.
7:30 pm Green Bay Packers at Baltimore Ravens (-4, 37 1/2) - There may be some pride and desire to win on the line in this meeting between two potential playoff foes, so a close, entertaining game is to be expected. The Ravens have a solid defense, as demonstrated in their 29-0 win over Jacksonville last week, while the Packers slipped by Houston.
7:30 pm Cincinnati Bengals at Washington Redskins (-3, 41) - Both teams are coming off preseason week 1 losses. Washington was humbled at Cleveland, 30-10. Cincinnati played on Saturday, losing at KC, 38-17, so they not only are on the road, but they are disadvantaged by a shortened work week.
8:00 pm Oakland Raiders at Arizona Cardinals (-3, 40) - Are the Raiders back? After their 14-3 victory over the visiting Rams, one could make the case that they are definitely on the way.
Friday, August 16
7:30 pm Chicago Bears at New York Giants (-2, 42 1/2) - The Bears were stunned, losing, 23-13, to the Panthers last week, so it is possible that they're not taking preseason games very seriously.
7:30 pm Miami Dolphins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3 1/2, 43 1/2) - Tampa Bay backup, Ryan Griffin, threw for 330 yards against the Steelers last week, but the Bucs still managed to lose, 30-28. Obviously, Tampa defense is still lacking.
