NFL Week 14 Picks - Late Games
NFL Week 14 Late Games
All times Eastern
4:05 pm Los Angeles Chargers (-3, 43) at Jacksonville Jaguars - Cellar dwellers in their respective divisions, this game is for nothing in particular, so consider the Jaguars to have an edge over the Chargers who have to travel cross country. Jacksonville's lost four straight; the Chargers three in a row.
Nick Foles fumbled twice and was intercepted once in Jacksonville's 28-11 loss to Tampa Bay. This could turn into a shootout between him and Chargers' QB, Phillip Rivers.
Coin Flip: LA Chargers
Prediction: Jaguars 30 Chargers 27
The Chiefs hold a two-game edge over Oakland in the AFC West. A win here and a Raider loss to the Titans would secure the division, as KC has topped the Raiders twice this season. No doubt, Kansas City has more than enough firepower to put it on the Patriots. New England's defense can be solved and the Chiefs defense has been up and down this season, but should be ready for a top effort.
Coin Flip: New England
Prediction: Chiefs 31 Patriots 22
Coin Flip: Pittsburgh
Prediction: Steelers 24 Cardinals 13
The Titans come in riding a three-game winning streak and are 5-1 with Ryan Tannehill behind center. Tennessee is capable of beating teams either through the air or on the ground. Bruising back Derrick Henry has rushed for 188, 159, and 149 in his last three games. when he rushes for 84 yards or more, the Titans do not lose.
Coin Flip: Tennessee
Prediction: Titans 30 Raiders 14
The Rams also have a tough couple of road games coming up. After this they play at Dallas and at San Francisco, before finishing off the regular season against the Cardinals, so a win here is almost a must. Their first meeting with the Seahawks ended in a 30-29 loss at Seattle, as Greg Zuerlein missed a 44-yard filed goal with 11 seconds left in the game. They'll be looking to reverse that result and probably will do so.
Coin Flip: LA Rams
Prediction: Rams 29 Seahawks 26
8:15 pm New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (-8 1/2, 46) - At 2-10, losers of eight straight, the Giants have been bad all season. The Eagles have only been inconsistent, racking up a 5-7 mark, including losses to lightweights like Atlanta, Detroit, and last week, Miami. Most of the Eagles' woes stem from a sputtering offense and lack of a running game. No Eagles back has rushed for 100 yards this season. The Giants aren't exactly horrible against the run, so they should hold their own. An upset here might be a fitting end to Philly's hopes for a playoff spot, though, with Dallas just ahead of them in the standings, they could still back into wining the awful NFC East.
This is the first meeting of these two division rivals. They play again in week 17, at New York. Look for the Eagles to play down to the Giants' level and maybe get themselves upended.
Coin Flip: Philadelphia
Prediction: Giants 23 Eagles 21

Week 14 Early Games
4:25 pm Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots (-3, 48 1/2) - At a time the Patriots are expected to be peaking, they're fading, if 10-2 can be considered a fade, but both losses have come in the past four games and their wins over Philadelphia and Dallas, by seven and four points, respectively, were hardly convincing. This season could be the last hurrah for the Brady-Belichick era. Sunday's 28-22 loss at Houston can be considered proof that the Patriots are not a top-flight team, though they're certain to reach the playoffs again this season.
4:25 pm Pittsburgh Steelers (-2 1/2, 43 1/2) at Arizona Cardinals - When it comes to survival, the Pittsburgh Steelers are right there. After a 1-4 start, coach Mike Tomlin has guided a team full of backups and leftovers to a 6-1 record and deserves coach of the year consideration. Hard to not like their chances against the Cardinals, who have fallen apart, losing five straight and have the league's second-worst defense.
4:25 pm Tennessee Titans (-3, 47) at Oakland Raiders - This game could not come at a worse time for the flailing Oakland Raiders. They've lost their last two by a combined score of 74-12, both the offense and defense imploding simultaneously. Jon Gruden may be a genius of a head coach, but he is not a miracle worker.
8:20 pm Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams (even, 48) - This game is huge for both teams, but especially for the 7-5 Rams. While they may not be able to catch either of the 10-2 Seahawks or 49ers for the division, they are behind 8-4 Minnesota in the wild card hunt. There's a strong probability that the Vikings will defeat the Lions earlier in the day, ramping up the urgency of LA's situation.
