NFL Week 16 Picks - Late Games
NFL Week 15 Late Games
All times Eastern
4:05 pm Oakland Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers (-6 1/2, 45) - Yet another game without meaning in terms of the post-season, but, noting the huge line for this divisional rivalry suggests that the Raiders are simply mailing it in after their late-game collapse against Jacksonville last week in a crushing, 20-16 defeat.
With both teams at 5-9, the Chargers have the edge offensively, and, despite their record, hold a +9 points differential. They've lost a bunch of close games, bu this one shouldn't be.
Coin Flip: Oakland
Prediction: Chargers 28 Raiders 13
The big edge here is likely to be on the defensive side, where Detroit has faltered badly, allowing 38 points in a loss to Tampa Bay last week.
Coin Flip: Detroit
Prediction: Broncos 23 Lions 10
The Seahawks remain tied with San Francisco atop the division and they host the 49ers next week, already holding a 27-24 OT win against them, but they have to play and win here. There's little doubt the Seahawks can roll past the Cardinals.
Coin Flip: Seattle
Prediction: Seahawks 38 Cardinals 21
It appears these two are going in opposite directions, as the Cowboys absolutely gobsmacked the Rams last week, 44-21, while the Eagles had to score two touchdowns in the final 26 seconds to defeat Washington, 37-27. The game was actually much closer than the score indicates, the lead having gone back and forth all day. Philly just hasn't had it this year. Their points differential is a paltry +6, while Dallas is at +90.
Coin Flip: Dallas
Prediction: Cowboys 30 Eagles 22
Other than Baltimore, which has won 10 straight, the Chiefs and Buccaneers have the longest ongoing win streaks, four in a row.
Coin Flip: Kansas City
Prediction: Chiefs 27 Bears 14
8:15 pm Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings (-5 1/2, 45 1/2) - Minnesota completely dominated the Lions and Chargers in their last two games, winning, 20-7, over Detroit, and 39-10, at LA. They appear to be peaking at the right time, and are looking to tie Green Bay for the top spot in the NFC North. The Vikings are seeking to avenge an earlier, 21-16, defeat at Green Bay, and probably will, though Aaron Rodgers plus 5 1/2 points is too good to pass up.
Coin Flip: Minnesota
Prediction: Vikings 23 Packers 20

Week 16 Early Games
4:05 pm Detroit Lions at Denver Broncos (-7, 38 1/2) - With Drew Lock at QB, the Broncos at least have something to look forward to next season, though one could hardly make that case in last week's 23-3 loss at Kansas City.
4:25 pm Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks (-9 1/2, 50) - Arizona shocked Cleveland last week, whipping the Browns, 38-24, and diminishing their playoff hopes. The upstart Cardinals won't be sneaking up on Seattle, to whom they lost in week four, 27-10.
4:25 pm Dallas Cowboys (-2 1/2, 46 1/2) at Philadelphia Eagles - Both teams with identical 7-7 marks, this game is ostensibly a win or go home scenario, the victor taking the division.
8:20 pm Kansas City Chiefs (-5 1/2, 45) at Chicago Bears - The Bears' offense was very inconsistent in last week's humbling, 21-13, loss at Green Bay. That's not going to work against the Chiefs, who have already wrapped up the AFC West and still have a shot at the #2 seed and a bye in the first week of the playoffs.
