NFL Week 7 Picks - Late Games
NFL Week 7 Late Games
All times Eastern
4:05 pm Los Angeles Chargers at Tennessee Titans (-2, 40) - Two teams seemingly headed for the respective cellars of their divisions. After scoring 43 points in their win over the Browns in week one, the Titans have managed to score more than 17 points just one time, in a 24-10 win at Atlanta.
The Chargers, likewise, 2-4, have scored 30 points in their two wins and 20, 17, 13, and 10 in their four losses. Could this be a hockey-like 0-0 tie? Could be. A game not for those who like excitement and scoring. Both teams pretty much suck, but the Chargers probably suck less.
Coin Flip: Tennessee
Prediction: Chargers 13 Titans 7
Speaking of MVPs, Lamar Jackson is going pretty well, also. He's led his team in rushing and passing in three different games, all wins, and cutting him loose from the pocket appears to be a winning strategy. Toughest call of the week in what will probably be the best Sunday game.
Coin Flip: Seattle
Prediction: Seahawks 26 Ravens 24
Mitch Trubisky will be behind center, and the Bears have had an extra week to ponder how they lost to Oakland in London two weeks past. If Chicago plays error-free, their defense should be able to control New Orleans on the other side, though this is still likely to be close.
Coin Flip: New Orleans
Prediction: Bears 24 Saints 20
The demise of Dallas has put the Eagles at par with the Cowboys at 3-3, atop the league's sorriest division. Philly lost at Minnesota last week, 38-20, completely throttled, and have yet another road game at Buffalo next week. They'd better win in Dallas or their playoff hopes may just go "poof" early.
Coin Flip: Dallas
Prediction: Eagles 19 Cowboys 16
8:15 pm New England Patriots (-9 1/2, 42 1/2) at New York Jets - with Sam Darnold back at QB for the Jets, this game suddenly becomes interesting. In their meeting on September 22, the Jets were outclassed at Foxboro, 30-14, but the scenario is different here.
Anybody who's seen Tom Brady play this season, has to have noted just a wee bit of indecision and some missed opportunities. Nonetheless, the Pats are 6-0, but this could be their Waterloo.
Coin Flip: New York Jets
Prediction: Jets 27 Patriots 24

Week 7 Early Games
4:25 pm Baltimore Ravens at Seattle Seahawks (-3 1/2, 49 1/2) - Super Bowl preview? Could be. Tough to not like Seattle at home, where the fans are raucous and loud and QB Russell Wilson is having an MVP season.
4:25 pm New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears (-3, 38) - The Saints have solidified behind backup QB, Teddy Bridgewater, who is displaying the kind of poise and talent many always expected from him. The Saints' defense has also been firming up, which will offer an edge against the sometimes sloppy Bears' offense.
8:20 pm Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys (-3, 49) - Both teams are struggling, but the Cowboys just seem out of it. They started 3-0, but since are 0-3 and circling the drain, if not the wagons, after losing to the Jets, 24-22, last week.
Monday, October 21
Bye: Carolina, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay
