NFL Week 2 Picks - Late Games
NFL Week 2 Late Games
All times Eastern
Washington Football Team at Arizona Cardinals (-6 1/2, 47 1/2) 4:05 pm (Fox) - A very interesting match-up between two surprise winners from week 1. The Redskins came back to top the Eagles, 27-17, while Kyler Murray led the Cardinals to a 24-20 upset at San Francisco.
With two young guns running the offenses, Murray and Washington QB, Dwayne Haskins Jr., should light up the scoreboard early and often. The defense which manages to make the right adjustments and steps up late should produce a victory. While it's likely to be the Cardinals, it may be only a slim margin.
Coin Flip: Arizona
Prediction: Cardinals 33 Washington Team 31
Houston plays at Pittsburgh next week and hosts the Vikings in week 4. That's tough. If they manage to win two of the next three, they should be considered playoff material at 2-2, but they're not likely to win this game.
Coin Flip: Houston
Prediction: Ravens 31 Texans 21
The Chiefs, reigning Super Bowl champs, picked up right where they left off, topping Houston, 34-20, last Thursday, so they've had extra time to prepare, as if they need it. The Chargers lost both meetings with the Chiefs last season, and that was with Phillip Rivers behind center. Tyrod Taylor doesn't exactly match up well with KC QB Patrick Mahomes. This one could get ugly.
Coin Flip: Los Angeles Chargers
Prediction: Chiefs 42 Chargers 17
Seattle also looked rather splendid, taking no prisoners in a 38-25 spectacle at Atlanta in which Russell Wilson threw for 322 yards, completing 31 of 35 passes with 4 TDs and no interceptions. He's not likely to replicate that performance against the Patriots. Expect this one to be everything one expects from a professional football game and more. Tough call. Take the Pats with the points.
Coin Flip: New England
Prediction: Seahawks 24 Patriots 22
New Orleans Saints (-5 1/2, 49 1/2) at Las Vegas Raiders 8:15 pm (ESPN) - Home opener for the Raiders after gutting out a 34-30 win at Carolina to go 1-0 and off to a good start. They will be pumped to get a win in their new stadium, but it won't be easy, as Drew Brees and the Saints looked to be in prime form, taking down Tom Brady and the Buccaneers handily, 34-23. It wasn't even that close.
Favorites were 10-5-1 in week 1. Looking for a reversal of that stat in week 2.
Coin Flip: New Orleans
Prediction: Raiders 31 Saints 29

Week 2 early Games
Baltimore Ravens (-7, 51 1/2) at Houston Texans 4:25 pm (CBS) - Houston is a quality team, but the schedule isn't very kind to them to start the 2020 season. After being roundly beaten by the Chiefs in week 1, 34-20, they host the Ravens, who are out of this world good, whipping up on Cleveland last week, 38-6.
Kansas City Chiefs (-8 1/2, 47 1/2) at Los Angeles Chargers 4:25 pm (CBS) - The Chargers take their 1-0 record to the field in week 2, after squeaking by Cincinnati, 16-13 in their road opener. That may be the last win for LA in a while. After this tilt with KC, they have Carolina, Tampa Bay and New Orleans.
New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks (-4 1/2, 45) 8:20 pm (NBC) - Get ready for a barn-burner in Seattle, as the Patriots have a new leader in stylish Cam Newton and a defense that looked top notch in their season-opening, 21-11 win over Miami.
