Atlanta Falcons @ Indianapolis Colts (-3.5, 36.5) 1:00 pm - Atlanta remains in a quarterback controversy and the two main contenders for the starting job - Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa are not expected to play.

With Cooper Rush and Jack Strand possibly taking all of the snaps, this line could easily move north of -6 by game time. Even with Daniel Jones still sidelined, Riley Leonard and Anthony Richardson Sr. should have their way with the Atlanta secondary and the Colts’ defense will have a fun afternoon.

Coin Flip: Atlanta

Fearless Rick’s Pick: Colts 26 Falcons 6

Baltimore Ravens @ Minnesota Vikings (-3.5, 36.5) 1:00 pm - Is Kyler Murray really the answer for the Vikings? After six failed seasons in Arizona, the diminutive QB can still spin it and scramble when needed, but improvisation isn’t exactly an offensive plan.

The Ravens have set their sights high as usual, but very few key starters will see action this week, including MVP candidate Lamar Jackson. Joe Fagano led a 24-7 win over the Eagles in week 1, so there’s plenty of scoring potential.

Lots of marginal players are going to be on the field in this game, raising the possibility for both turnovers and a high score. The over is extremely tempting on this one.

Coin Flip: Baltimore

Fearless Rick’s Pick: Vikings 34 Ravens 27

New Orleans Saints (-3, 37.5) @ Los Angeles Rams 4:00 pm - One of the more dubious road favorites, even if the Saints plan to give starting QB Tyler Shough any significant playing time, the Rams, loaded with talent and a host of players vying for defensive positions, aren’t going to just roll over. And the Saints’ defense gave up 24 points to the Jags last week. Spencer Rattler and Hunter Deckers will take the bulk of the snaps.

Ty Simpson and Stetson Bennett IV are vying for the #2 QB job. Long Rams here. Better coaching, better players, at home.

Coin Flip: Los Angeles Rams

Fearless Rick’s Pick: Rams 27 Saints 17

New York Giants (-2.5, 38) @ Miami Dolphins 4:00 pm - Even if it’s scorching in Miami this weekend, giving the fish less than a field goal seems like a play worth taking.

Bear in mind that the Giants aren’t rebuilding, they’re planning on making a playoff run this season. Miami, on the other hand, has many holes to fill.

Coin Flip: New York Giants

Fearless Rick’s Pick: Giants 21 Dolphins 13

Chicago Bears (-1.5, 36) @ Cincinnati Bengals 7:00 pm - This line has moved - predictably - toward the Bears. The thinking is that Chicago has the makings of a team that could go deep in the playoffs and most of the starting positions are already filled.

The Bears are in talent evaluation mode and far ahead of the Bengals at this juncture. Their defensive posture is getting better each week.

Coin Flip: Chicago

Fearless Rick’s Pick: Bears 23 Bengals 10

Philadelphia Eagles (-2.5, 36) @ New England Patriots 7:00 pm - New England dominated most of their game against the Colts last week, but the contest ended in a 13-13 tie (no OT in preseason). Coach Vrable got an eyeful of both his offense and defense and is apparently not going to start Drake Maye (that may change).

The Eagles sleepwalked though a 24-7 loss at Baltimore and will need to put a little more effort into their play this week or risk being blown out again. Given they’re likely to play back-ups extensively, the Pats should rightfully be favored at home.

Coin Flip: Philadelphia

Fearless Rick’s Pick: Patriots 21 Eagles 14

Kansas City Chiefs @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-5.5, 37.5) 7:30 pm - Is it over for the Chiefs? Last week, the Rams knocked them off, 20-12, on their home turf, without a lot of their starters. They just aren’t the same without Patrick Mahomes, and, after all, this is still preseason.

Tampa Bay is a strong favorite here because Baker Mayfield is supposed to ge the start and they have home field advantage over a team that seems to be kind of walking through exhibition games.

The Bucs whacked the Jets, 24-16, and should continue their winning way.

Coin Flip: Kansas City

Fearless Rick’s Pick: Buccaneers 30 Chiefs 17

Dallas Cowboys @ Arizona Cardinals (-1.5, 37.5) 10:00 pm - Some of these lines are amusing, but this one is just plain crazy. The Cowboys seemed resolute in their 17-7 win at Seattle last week, and, if momentum means anything, they’ll be hyped for this game. Joe Milton III and Sam Howell should be effective enough against the Cardinal defense.

Gardner Minshew II threw two TD passes in Arizona’s 27-14 win over the Raiders last week, and is expected to see limited action against the Cowboys.

Still, can’t get past the feeling that Dallas players have much to prove and will be looking for a statement win, even if it is preseason.

Coin Flip: Dallas

Fearless Rick’s Pick: Cowboys 23 Cardinals 14

Seattle Seahawks @ Tennessee Titans (-4.5, 39) (FOX, national) 8:00 pm - The Titans are resting on hopes that QB Cam Ward will improve after last year’s 3-14 live fire test, but there’s a question about just how deep is his upside.

This game is on national TV, the first game at Titans’ new Nissan Stadium in Nashville, so the home team would like to present a good showing. With the Seahawks coming off a loss at home to Dallas last week, they may have other ideas. The Titans have the makings of a pretty good defense, but, this is still preseason. Expect Seattle to put the kibosh on Ward in the first half.

Coin Flip: Tennessee

Fearless Rick’s Pick: Seahawks 24 Titans 14
