7:00 pm UCF (-17, 71) at Tulsa - First of two Friday night redemption games, featuring teams (UCF and Washington) that were formerly ranked playing on the road against sketchy opposition.
Still a force with which to reckon, the UCF Knights had their 27-game regular season winning streak snapped earlier this season at Pittsburgh, then were taken down another notch in a 27-24 loss at Cincinnati. The Knights have rebounded with three consecutive victories and a win here would likely put them back in the Top 25.
Despite five straight losses and this week's large line, Tulsa doesn't get blown out often. They took SMU to three overtimes in a 43-37 loss, Cincinnati topped them 24-13, Memphis squeaky by, 42-41, and last week the Golden Hurricane went down at Tulane, 38-26. This looks different.
Coin Flip: Tulsa
Prediction: Knights 49 Golden Hurricane 24
The Beavers are 3-2 in conference and 4-4 overall. Back-to-back road wins at Cal and Arizona were convincing and they have the ability to light up the scoreboard on occasion. With Washington in a death spiral, the Beavers might chew them up on their home turf.
Coin Flip: Oregon State
Prediction: Beavers 34 Huskies 30
12:00 pm #4 Penn State (-7, 47 1/2) at #17 Minnesota - Usually, the Golden Gophers go undefeated through the first four or five games, but this year's squad has extended the winning to eight straight and are among the leaders in both offense and defense in the Big Ten. In fact, Minnesota has the highest-scoring offense in the West division (307 points). Penn State is on a par, with 308 points scored, and their defense is allowing under 10 points per game.
How big is this for the Gophers? Huge. A win would put them three games up on the loser of the Iowa Wisconsin match-up later today, setting up showdowns with both teams as Minnesota is at Iowa next week and hosts Wisconsin November 30. The Gophers have been hammering opponents regularly, and have allowed just 24 points in their last three wins. Penn State has had three tough wins in a row (Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State) and could be set up in their second straight road game. Upset potential for sure.
Coin Flip: Minnesota
Prediction: Golden Gophers 24 Nittany Lions 21
In their last three losses, the Commodores have scored just 23 points. If prepared to give their top effort, Florida may shut them out.
Coin Flip: Florida
Prediction: Gators 38 Commodores 6
With wins over Iowa State, Kansas state, and Oklahoma State already in the books, the Bears probably aren't too concerned about the 4-4 Horned Frogs. Baylor has statistical edges on both sides of the ball and significant momentum. After this come Oklahoma and Texas, so a stumble here, being on top of the conference, doesn't seem likely.
Coin Flip: Baylor
Prediction: Bears 34 Horned Frogs 20

Friday, November 8
10:30 pm Washington (-10, 65) at Oregon State - The Huskies fell to 2-4 in conference play following losses to Oregon (35-31) and Utah (33-28). The Huskies simply don't match up well with the power players in the PAC-12, but Oregon State isn't one of them.
Saturday, November 9
12:00 pm Vanderbilt at #10 Florida (-26 1/2, 48) - at 1-4 in the SEC, Vanderbilt is one of the conference punching bags. Georgia topped them 30-6, LSU ripped them, 66-38 and Ole Miss scored a 31-6 win, so it stands to reason that the Gators may take out some frustration after falling to Georgia last week, 24-17. Florida's defense is top shelf material and they should run the table in their final three games (Missouri, Florida State after this week).
12:00 pm #12 Baylor (-2, 49 1/2) at TCU - The College Football Playoff Rankings (CFPR) are a little screwy, having unbeaten Baylor behind two teams with two losses (Florida and Auburn, both 7-2). A little SEC bias, maybe? In any case, the Bears have shown up every week and gotten the job done, running up an 8-0 record.
