3:30 pm #2 LSU at #3 Alabama (-6 1/2, 65) - If only the CFPR had not put Ohio State at the top of their rankings, this would have been a battle for #1, but it's still crucial for both undefeated teams and the Crimson Tide gets the nod not only because they're at home, but because, well, they're Alabama, and Nick Saban and all those national championships and all that.

However, Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa is nursing a sore ankle and remains a game-time decision. Backup Mac Jones led the Tide to a 48-7 win last week, so he's ready if needed. LSU's Joe Burrow is emerging as a QB and Heisman candidate. The Tigers aren't scared off by the Tide's clout and they had a solid tuneup in a 23-20 win over Auburn two weeks ago. Like Alabama, they had last week off.

Coin Flip: LSU

Prediction: Tigers 26 Crimson Tide 24

3:30 pm #16 Kansas State at Texas (-7, 58) - Both teams are 3-2 in Big 12 action, but Kansas State is 6-2 overall, Texas 5-3. The Wildcats have momentum, with three straight wins, beating TCU, Oklahoma, and Kansas in recent weeks. K-State's 48-41 win over the Sooners was huge, throwing the conference championship picture into a five-way contest.

Texas, having lost to Oklahoma, knows its chances of taking the conference title are slim, especially after unexpectedly losing at TCU last week, 37-27. The Texas defense has been exposed on numerous occasions this season, and, this being a quite even game, their inability to stop the Wildcats could weigh heavily toward the outcome.

Coin Flip: Kansas State

Prediction: Wildcats 35 Longhorns 27

3:30 pm #19 Wake Forest (-2, 63) at Virginia Tech - The Hokies nearly upset Notre Dame last week, in a game they were expected to lose by 17 points or more, but the defense played huge right until the end of the game, when the Irish scored the winning TD and a 21-20 victory. Virginia Tech enters this fray quite banged up and with question marks at quarterback. Quincy Patterson II was just 9-for-28 against Notre Dame.

If not for Clemson, Wake Forest would be the team to beat in the ACC. At 7-1, the only Demon Deacon loss was a wild, 62-59, defeat to Louisville. They have talent to spare on offense, and the defense is usually up to the task at hand. Wake Forest should win this handily.

Coin Flip: Virginia Tech

Prediction: Demon Deacons 42 Hokies 23

4:00 pm #18 Iowa at #13 Wisconsin (-9 1/2, 38) - Both teams are vying for the Big Ten East title, but, at 3-2, are two games behind 5-0 Minnesota. The winner of this game will obviously have a leg up in the standings.

Defensively, these are near equals, but Wisconsin boasts a more productive offense. The Hawkeyes have had trouble scoring and will again against the Badgers, who are 5-0 at Camp Randall.

Coin Flip: Iowa

Prediction: Badgers 27 Hawkeyes 14

7:00 pm Missouri at #6 Georgia (-17, 47) - With the win over Florida last weekend, the Bulldogs have the SEC East lead to themselves and should be able to hold on, though they face a stern test at Auburn next week. If they're not looking ahead to their meeting with the Tigers, Georgia should roll against the 5-3 Mizzou. Georgia is allowing just 11.4 points per game, and Missouri QB Kelly Bryant is nursing a strained hamstring. The Tigers have dropped their last two, both on the road, at Vandy and Kentucky. This marks their third straight road encounter.

Coin Flip: Georgia

Prediction: Bulldogs 34 Tigers 10

7:30 pm #5 Clemson (-32 1/2, 53 1/2) at NC State - The average margin of victory the last four weeks for 9-0 Clemson has been 40.5 points, so, if the trend is your friend, the Tigers should be looking in their rear mirror at a fading Wolfpack.

NC State is 4-0 at home, but those were wins over weak foes. Otherwise, they've been on the bad side of blowouts, losing - all on the road - to West Virginia by 17, Florida State by 18, BC by 21 and last week suffering a 44-10 setback at Wake Forest. Clemson should deliver a serious beatdown.

Coin Flip: Clemson

Prediction: Tigers 48 Wolfpack 3

7:30 pm #15 Notre Dame (-8, 51 1/2) at Duke - The Fighting Irish nearly lost their third game of the season last week, scoring the go-ahead touchdown with under a minute to play in a 21-20 win against Virginia Tech.

As it is, Notre Dame isn't a high-quality football team and their defense has various vulnerabilities. Coach Brian Kelly is on the hot seat with firing rumors swirling. Duke, 4-4, is a team the Irish should beat, unless the Blue Devils find some consistency on offense. Duke is 2-1 at home. Outside of losses to Alabama and Virginia, they've been competitive, losing, 20-17, to North Carolina before taking last week off. Some rest and home field help their chances.

Coin Flip: Notre Dame

Prediction: Fighting Irish 30 Blue Devils 24

8:00 pm Iowa State at #9 Oklahoma (-14, 68) - It's certainly put up or shut time in the Big 12, and this one should go a long way toward determining the conference champion. Iowa State 3-2 in conference play, the Sooners, 4-1. Defensively, the teams are nearly mirror images, though the Sooners have a big advantage offensively. They are tough to slow down, much less stop consistently.

Iowa State doesn't get blown out, though the potential is there, but they're 2-1 in road games this season, the only loss a 23-21 defeat to Baylor. Their other losses, at home were to Iowa (18-17) and Oklahoma State (34-27). They can keep pace with Oklahoma and an upset is not out of the question.

Coin Flip: Iowa State

Prediction: Sooners 38 Cyclones 31
