3:30 #2 Alabama (-25 1/2, 61 1/2) at South Carolina - Tough to go against the Crimson Tide after they've dominated Duke, 42-3, and hammered New Mexico State, 62-10.
South Carolina lost their opener to North Carolina, 24-20, but made hay against Charleston Southern, as they should have, 72-10. There was a quarterback change after the NC loss, from the coach's son, Jake Bentley, to freshman Ryan Hilinski. The situation was dubious, with the coaching staff claiming that Bentley broke his foot on the last play of the game, one in which he was largely ineffective (16-30, 1 TD, 2 INT).
The Gamecocks might be able to move the ball against the Tide, but it will be up to the defense to keep this close. Probably not going to happen, but worth a long look.
Coin Flip: South Carolina
Prediction: Crimson Tide 38 Gamecocks 17
The good news for Stanford is that they'll have their regular starting QB back after K.J. Costello was ruled out of the USC game with a hit to the head against first week opponent, Northwestern, in a 17-7 win. That tilts the balance a little in Stanford's favor.
UCF has posted two mammoth wins, 62-0 over Florida A&M, and 48-14 over Florida Atlantic. This game will not be so easy.
Coin Flip: Stanford
Prediction: Stanford 24 UCF 23
USC comes off an impressive, 45-20, win over Stanford, and the Trojans might be on the way back to prominence. In week one, they topped a solid Fresno State team, 31-23. Freshman QB Kedon Slovis looks like the real deal and if the Trojans tighten up defensively, they could be a PAC-12 contender.
Coin Flip: USC
Prediction: Trojans 38 Cougars 21
Arizona State's offense hasn't shown a ton of spark, winning, 30-7 over Kent State, and 19-7 against Sacramento State, two teams the Sun devils should have demolished.
The Spartans held nothing back in wins over Tulsa and Western Michigan, 28-7, and 51-17, respectively. Their defense is ferocious and AZST's offense doesn't appear to be fully on-track, but the defense and wideout, Brendan Aiyuk may keep the Sun Devils in this one.
Coin Flip: Michigan State
Prediction: Spartans 27 Sun Devils 21
Off to a 2-0 start, they host the Gators, whom they beat last year, in Gainseville, 27-16. Why Florida is favored by more than a touchdown is a mystery only the oddsmakers know, but Florida is also 2-0, beating Miami, 24-20, in week one, and walking through a 45-0 win over UT Martin last week.
The Wildcats have a very good football team and may be ready to break into the upper echelon of the SEC. A win here would prove they belong.
Coin Flip: Florida
Prediction: Wildcats 24 Gators 21
QB Eric Dungey has graduated, and his replacement, Tommy DeVito, has yet to display any winning formula. Meanwhile, the Tigers are defending their national championship well, whipping Georgia Tech, 52-14, then humbling Texas A&M, 24-10. The Orange stand little chance of winning and may not find the end zone against Clemson's clamp-down defense.
Coin Flip: Clemson
Prediction: Tigers 48 Orange 6
The Cavaliers are loaded with experienced upperclassmen, a big advantage on the road. They're 2-0 this season behind returning QB Bryce Perkins. Wins over Pitt and William & Mary look good.
Coin Flip: Virginia
Prediction: Cavaliers 38 Seminoles 24
The Sooners have a national championship caliber team and they won't be shy about running up the score, like they did last week in their 70-14 win over South Dakota.
Coin Flip: UCLA
Prediction: Sooners 54 Bruins 13

Week 2 Early Games
3:30 pm Stanford at #17 UCF (-8, 61) - The Cardinal was grounded at USC last week, 45-20, and now they have to travel cross-country to face the Knights, who haven't lost a regular season game since 2016.
3:30 pm #24 USC (-4 1/2, 56 1/2) at BYU - After a 30-12 loss to Utah on opening weekend, the Cougars won in double OT at Tennessee, 29-26, but that doesn't prove much, because the Vols are 0-2 and looking like most of the recruits would rather play basketball there than football.
4:00 pm Arizona State at #18 Michigan State (-14 1/2, 42) - In week two of the 2018 season, these two matched up, with the Sun Devils posting a 16-13 upset at home. With this contest at Michigan State, the result may be different, though it might not be by the predicted margin.
7:00 pm #9 Florida (-8, 50) at Kentucky - The Wildcats were largely overlooked last season, but 2018 was a breakout year for Kentucky football, as they went 10-3 and beat Penn State, 27-24, in the Citrus Bowl.
7:30 pm #1 Clemson (-28, 62 1/2) at Syracuse - Last season, the Orange nearly upset the Tigers, losing 27-23 on the road. Getting this return date at the Carrier Dome should be of benefit to Syracuse, but, following their 62-20 defeat at Maryland last week, the team seems to have taken numerous steps in the wrong direction.
7:30 pm Florida State at #25 Virginia (-7 1/2, 58) - The Seminoles lost to Boise State, 36-31, to open the season and slipped by UL-Monroe last week, 45-44, in overtime. They don't seem to be as imposing a force as previous Florida State squads and Virginia may test their vulnerable defense.
8:00 pm #5 Oklahoma (-23, 73 1/2) at UCLA - The 0-2 Bruins lost to pretty good teams, in Cincinnati (24-14) and San Diego State (23-14). This one should be a much larger margin.
