8:20 pm Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears (-3, 46 1/2) - The longest-running NFL rivalry is revived to open the 100th season, with two teams having high expectations of winning the NFC North division.
These two last met in December of 2018, with the Bears taking a 24-17 decision at home, on their way to the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers surely will be seeking revenge, but the Chicago defense knows him well and should prevail in the season opener.
Coin Flip: Green Bay
Prediction: Bears 27 Packers 21
1:00 pm Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings (-4, 47 1/2) - The Vikings went 8-7-1 last year, missed the playoffs, and are surely looking for better results this season. Atlanta was worse, going 7-9 in the NFC West, which was a runaway for New Orleans (13-3). So, this is a big test for the Falcons, who had issues galore on defense last season.
Matt Ryan should hold up the offensive end, but defensively, the Falcons still have holes and Minny QB, Kirk Cousins, should be effective.
Coin Flip: Minnesota
Prediction: Vikings 23 Falcons 14
Ryan Fitzpatrick is the supposed starter, but he may not last long. Baltimore is geared up and looking to repeat as AFC North champions. The line indicates it may be a long day for the Dolphins.
Coin Flip: Miami
Prediction: Ravens 30 Dolphins 10
These two split their 2018 games, but it is notable that the Bills mashed the Jets in NY, 41-10, lost at home, 27-23. Fewer errors spells a win for Buffalo.
Coin Flip: NY Jets
Prediction: Bills 31 Jets 20
Jacksonville's defense will be up against it, and, if they fall behind early, Foles will be a sitting duck for eager KC pass rushers.
Coin Flip: Jacksonville
Prediction: Chiefs 34 Jaguars 21
While the Rams were 13-3 last season, they're not going to sneak up on anyone. This game appears ripe for upset status with a late field goal supplying the winning margin.
Coin Flip: Carolina
Prediction: Panthers 24 Rams 21
Long-suffering Cleveland fans may finally have a team that can compete at the highest level. This could get downright silly if Tennessee isn't ready to give their best for 60 minutes.
Coin Flip: Tennessee
Prediction: Browns 40 Titans 13
Washington went 1-3 as well, but they have a new offense, led by Case Keenum, and possibly, Dwayne Haskins, later in the year. Still, Philly has owned the 'Skins the past two seasons, taking all four of their contests.
Coin Flip: Philadelphia
Prediction: Eagles 28 Redskins 16

Sunday, September 8
1:00 pm at Baltimore Ravens (-7, 37 1/2) at Miami Dolphins - If the preseason meant anything, it was that the Ravens may have the most dominating defense in the league, which is bad news for Miami, despite playing their home opener.
1:00 pm at Buffalo Bills at New York Jets (-3, 40) - Both teams open the 2019 season full of hope and with second year QBs in Sam Darnold and the Bills' Josh Allen. The Bills have made quite a few roster moves in the off-season and may contend for the AFC East title. The Jets seem to be still a year or more away from becoming competitive.
1:00 pm at Kansas City Chiefs (-4, 52) at Jacksonville Jaguars - The story here is how well Nick Foles will perform as the starting qB for the Jaguars. Foles is a cool cookie and KC typically doesn't offer stiff defense, so he may fare pretty well. The problem is that the Chiefs possess many weapons on offense and can score from anywhere on the field.
1:00 pm at Los Angeles Rams (-3, 50 1/2) at Carolina Panthers - Cam Newton is supposedly good to go for the season opener, and the Panthers won't make life easy for the visiting Rams.
1:00 pm at Tennessee Titans at Cleveland Browns (-5 1/2, 45 1/2) - Tennessee looked sluggish and out of order during the preseason. The Browns went 3-1 and appeared ready to go even in the first preseason game. The Browns are a young, aggressive club with unlimited potential.
1:00 pm at Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles (-9 1/2, 45 1/2) - For a team that's supposed to contend for the division crown, the Eagles - going 1-3 preseason - didn't impress anybody in the practice games.
