8:20 pm San Francisco 49ers (-8, 44 1/2) at Arizona Cardinals - On paper, this one is pretty easy to figure. Last week, after New Orleans walloped the Cardinals, 31-9, San Francisco went to town on Carolina, 51-13.
The Cardinals have allowed 223 points over eight games, second most in the league (Atlanta, 250), while the 49ers have put up 207 in seven games, 29.6 per outing, near the top of the league in scoring.
Coin Flip: Arizona
Prediction: 49ers 34 Cardinals 17
9:30 am at Houston Texans (-2 1/2, 47) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (London) - The NFL's fixation with London runs contrary to how both players and fans feel about the games. There aren't many NFL fans in London, and the players hate the travel. At least for the Jaguars, the trip won't be so long.
As for the game, it should be a good one. Jacksonville is coming off a 29-15 rip of the Jets and Houston also won at home, 27-24, over Oakland. This is an AFC South contest, so the game means a good deal to both teams. The 4-4 Jaguars may have a bit of an edge, due to numerous Houston injuries, but the Texans have miracle-worker, Deshaun Watson. Should be tight throughout.
Coin Flip: Houston
Prediction: Jaguars 27 Texans 24
While the Bears might be able to turn it around, they appear to be more likely to continue to stink. They're 2-0 on the road, but those wins were at Denver and Washington. The Eagles are coming off a 31-13 win at Buffalo, their third straight road game, so this homer should be welcome. Philly's defense is allowing 24.9 points per game, but the Bears have scored that many in a game only twice this season.
Coin Flip: Chicago
Prediction: Eagles 24 Bears 14
Pittsburgh is not in contention for anything other than draft picks and they're probably going down here.
Coin Flip: Indianapolis
Prediction: Colts 31 Steelers 21
Kansas City has dropped three of their last four and Patrick Mahomes is unlikely to play in this contest. Matt Moore has been the starting QB the last two weeks, and has done a remarkably good job, but against the Vikings' defense - third in points allowed (16.5) and with in yardage allowed - he's unlikely to find much success.
Coin Flip: Minnesota
Prediction: Vikings 28 Chiefs 23
The Jets only have one win and they're 0-3 on the road, so they pretty much stink as badly as the decomposing fish that is Miami football. Give the Dolphins a "Flipper Approved" win, or at least as close loss.
Coin Flip: New York Jets
Prediction: Dolphins 20 Jets 17
Carolina's Kyle Allen hit a wall in the Panthers' 51-13 loss at San Francisco last week, tossing three picks and being sacked seven times for 58 yards. Tennessee's defense should have a field day.
Coin Flip: Tennessee
Prediction: Titans 31 Panthers 19
Buffalo's offense doesn't inspire much confidence. The most they've scored in any game is 31, and that was against the Dolphins. However, 1-7 Washington's offense is pretty pathetic. In their last four losses, they've scored a total of 19 points.
Coin Flip: Washington
Prediction: Bills 24 Redskins 13

Week 9 Late Games
Week 8: Rick: 9-6; Coin: 9-6
Cumulative: Rick: 59-61-1; Coin: 62-58-1
Sunday, November 3
1:00 pm Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles (-5, 44) - Is Chicago really that bad? Losers of three straight, da Bears now occupy the basement of the NFC North. The offense has struggled mightily. They're 28th in total yards and passing yards, and 25th in rushing. They average 18.3 points per game, better than just five other teams.
1:00 pm Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers (even, 43 1/2) - If this is a close game, as the line-maker has it, the Steelers will likely lose it. In games decided by six or fewer points, Pittsburgh is 0-3, the Colts are 4-1. Never mind that the Colts are a better team, at 5-2, they're also 2-1 on the road, with wins at Tennessee and Kansas City and the loss a 30-24 OT defeat at the Rams in week one.
1:00 pm Minnesota Vikings (-2 1/2, 47) at Kansas City Chiefs - Well, look here. Kansas City is an underdog at home against the 6-2 Vikings, winners of four straight and in hot pursuit of the 7-1 Packers in the NFC North. Green Bay defeated the Chiefs, 31-24, Sunday night, dropping them to 5-3, though they still hold the lead in the AFC West by 1 1/2 games over the Raiders.
1:00 pm New York Jets (-5 , 41 1/2) at Miami Dolphins - Miami still hasn't found a way to win, though they may have an opportunity against the Jets, whose offense is worse than theirs (209.6 yards per game vs. 254.6 for the Dolphins), but, Sam Darnold is back at QB, so the Jets should do better against Miami's worst defense in the league.
1:00 pm Tennessee Titans at Carolina Panthers (-3 1/2, 41) - Having made the switch to Ryan Tannehill, the Titans are 2-0 with him behind center and he's looked solid. Now 4-4, Tennessee is in the thick of the AFC South and the wild card. Carolina's rush defense - if that's what you want to call it - is allowing 135.1 yards per game, which means bruising back, Derrick Henry, will probably get about 150.
1:00 pm Washington Redskins at Buffalo Bills (-10, 37) - Buffalo was roughed up at home last week by the Eagles in a 31-13 defeat, their defense allowing the most points in any game thus far this season. They get another NFC East team this week, but Washington is not nearly the team that Philadelphia is.
