NCAA Week 6 Late Games
All times Eastern
3:30 pm #4 Clemson (-17 1/2, 62) at Wake Forest - Clemson has QB issues, but Trevor Lawrence has been cleared to play against the Demon Deacons, which pretty much sees up the Tigers' 6th straight win.
Wake had both Boston College and Notre Dame at home but failed to cash in, losing by seven to the Eagles and then being whomped by the Irish, 56-27. They did manage a 56-24 win over Rice. They're a decent team, but not of Clemson's caliber. Last season, Clemson won at home, 28-14, but this Tiger team looks different, especially after their close call against Syracuse last week.
Coin Flip: Wake Forest
PREDICTION: Tigers 38 Demon Deacons 13
The LSU Tigers have been pummeling people weekly, last week stuffing Ole Miss, 45-16, and look like the real deal at 5-0. This will be LSU's second road game of the season, but they were successful at Auburn, winning 22-21, and have enough defense to keep the Gators from biting. The Tigers still have Georgia (next week) and Alabama (November 3) ahead, so they must remained focused for a win here.
Coin Flip: LSU
PREDICTION: Tigers 24 Gators 17
Miami has been rolling along after losing their season opener to LSU, 33-17. After ripping North Carolina last week, 47-10, they look like serious challengers in the ACC.
Coin Flip: Florida State
PREDICTION: Hurricanes 38 Seminoles 13
The Cyclones are one of a few teams in the conference that can actually play defense, which bodes well for them in this road contest.
Coin Flip: Oklahoma State
PREDICTION: Cyclones 23 Cowboys 20
State's two losses were to quality teams and both were on the road: 28-21 at San Diego State and 27-20 at Washington. The Sun Devils rebounded to a 52-24 shaming of Oregon State and should have plenty of fire in their collective bellies.
Colorado has done everything right, but the best team they've faced thus far may have been Nebraska, and the Buffaloes only won by a narrow, 33-28, margin. The combined record of Colorado's first four opponents is 1-17 (that's not a misprint), so this is a real class test.
Coin Flip: Arizona State
PREDICTION: Sun Devils 38 Buffaloes 17
The stifling defense being played by the Wildcats may become the talk of college football if they press the Aggies hard in this crucial road test. A&M is 3-2, but the losses were to Clemson and Alabama, so no shame there. Kentucky is allowing just 288 yards per game and is tied for third, with Auburn, in points allowed, at 12.6. That's a ton for the Aggies to overcome, even at home.
Coin Flip: Texas A&M
PREDICTION: Wildcats 24 Aggies 14
Vandy's losses have been to Notre Dame (22-17) and South Carolina (37-14), suggesting that the Commodores might have some success on offense. A few scores are all they need to cover, but an upset is pretty much off the board.
Coin Flip: Georgia
PREDICTION: Georgia 38 Commodores 17
The Bulldogs have some game and have lost two straight but they're still only yielding 13.4 ppg, eighth nationally. Home field works heavily in favor of Mississippi State. This looks to be a brutal defensive struggle.
Coin Flip: Auburn
PREDICTION: Bulldogs 17 Tigers 13
21 points may look like a lot, but considering that Oklahoma beat the Bruins by 28 and Colorado topped them by 22 last week, maybe not.
Coin Flip: Washington
PREDICTION: Huskies 42 Bruins 13
Virginia Tech proved resilient after their untimely, 49-35, defeat at the hands of Old Dominion by whipping the undefeated Duke Blue Devils, 31-14, last week. This game should be well-played, but the disciplined Notre Dame offense and stout defense should prevail, wearing down the Hokies as the game progresses.
Coin Flip: Notre Dame
PREDICTION: Fighting Irish 30 Hokies 20

Week 6 Early Games
3:30 pm #5 LSU (-2 1/2, 44) at #22 Florida - Yep, the SEC is loaded with quality teams again, including the 4-1 Gators, who are coming off a pair of conference wins at Tennessee (47-21) and Mississippi State (13-6).
3:30 pm Florida State at #17 Miami (-13, 48 1/2) - Normally, this is a huge rivalry, but Florida State's two conference games were embarrassing, losing to Virginia Tech, 24-3, and Syracuse, 30-7.
3:30 pm Iowa State at #25 Oklahoma State (-10 1/2, 54 1/2) - The line suggests that this will be something of a walkover for the Cowboys, but the Cyclones have been getting closer to a conference win recently, and, despite a 1-3 record, they appear ready to break into the win column. Iowa State lost at Iowa, 13-3, to Oklahoma, 37-27, and at TCU, 17-14. They may not be among the Big 12 elite, but neither are the 4-1 Cowboys, who chewed up their early opponents but were stunned by Texas Tech two weeks ago, 41-17.
4:00 pm Arizona State at #21 Colorado (-2 1/2, 62) - While the 4-0 Buffs may look like the class of the PAC-12 South presently, the Sun Devils - despite a 3-2 record - are likely to bring some hellishness to the Rockies in this conference clash.
7:00 pm #13 Kentucky at Texas A&M (-5 1/2, 50) - Obviously, not everybody is believing the story coming out of 5-0 Kentucky. The Wildcats already have three conference wins, and none have even been close, whipping Florida 27-16, Mississippi State, 28-7, and South Carolina, 24-10.
7:30 pm Vanderbilt at #2 Georgia (26 1/2, 52) - Speaking of solid SEC programs, Georgia has simply knocked out opponents all season, allowing 13 points per game, while scoring at an average clip of 43.2.
7:30 pm #8 Auburn (-3, 44) at Mississippi State - Auburn's smothering defense (12.6 ppg) may be just getting their legs and the Bulldogs are going to feel some pain when the Tigers come to town.
8:00 pm #10 Washington (-21, 50 1/2) at UCLA - The Huskies may very well be the class of the PAC-10 and possibly should be ranked higher. In week one, they lost to Auburn, 21-16, and that is their lone blemish. Wins over Utah (21-7) and BYU (35-7) have been convincing, and 0-4 UCLA is in a serious down cycle.
8:00 pm #6 Notre Dame (-5 1/2, 55 1/2) at #24 Virginia Tech - The Fighting Irish proved tough as nails in their dominating, 38-17, win over then-#7 Stanford. The Irish defense was instrumental in a second half surge that assured victory. Now, Notre Dame can look toward a possible invitation to the national championship four-team tournament.
