NFL Week 6 Picks - Late Games
NFL Week 6 Late Games
All times Eastern
4:05 pm Los Angeles Rams (-7, 52 1/2) at Denver Broncos - Denver is reeling, having lost three straight, the latest a 34-16 beatdown by the Jets in New York.
One of two teams yet unbeaten (Kansas City is the other), the Rams are the darlings of the league and have the top-ranked offense in the NFL and are third in points scored (34.6 per game). They also have the best point differential in the league, at 75. Hard to see how Denver can compete, even at home.
Coin Flip: Denver
PREDICTION: Rams 40 Broncos 20
Noting that, both teams are 3-2, but the Titans are 2-0 at home, Baltimore, 1-2 on the road. Tough spot for the Ravens in a close call.
Coin Flip: Tennessee
PREDICTION: Titans 21 Ravens 18
2-3 Dallas lost a rough, 19-16, overtime game at Houston, and, if they can keep up that level of play, will be tough hosts and may find themselves atop their division with a win.
Coin Flip: Jacksonville
PREDICTION: Cowboys 23 Jaguars 17
Neither team has displayed much affinity for defense, though New England is statistically better, as the Chiefs are ranked dead last in yards allowed. There will be plenty of big plays and scoring here, but the Patriots are running a 9-0 home winning streak, though the Chiefs did win, 42-27, in week one last season at Foxboro.
This one will be a matter of pride for Tom Brady and coach Belichick.
Coin Flip: New England
PREDICTION: Patriots 38 Chiefs 30
8:15 pm San Francisco 49ers at Green Bay Packers (-9 1/2, 46 1/2) - Without QB Jimmy Garoppolo, the 49ers are dead meat, losing three straight and heading to tough Lambeau Field.
Green Bay has to shrug off last week's horrible showing by kicker Mason Crosby and the resultant, 31-23 loss to Detroit, and they likely will. The Packers have too good a team to fall below .500 (2-2-1 presently) and should be clicking against one of the worst teams in the league. San Francisco allows nearly 30 points per game and the 'Niners are 0-3 on the road.
Coin Flip: Green Bay
PREDICTION: Packers 41 49ers 10

Week 6 early Games
4:25 pm Baltimore Ravens (-3, 41) at Tennessee Titans - The Titans were beaten at Buffalo last week, 13-12, while the Ravens lost in overtime, 12-9, at Cleveland, proving that parity is alive and well in the NFL.
4:25 pm Jacksonville Jaguars (-3, 40 1/2) at Dallas Cowboys - Plenty of road favorites this week, but this one stands out. The Jaguars have an excellent defense, but were roundly handled in their 30-14 loss at Kansas City last week. Their second straight road game should bring them back to earth.
8:20 pm Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots (-3 1/2, 59) - Talk about prime time, this match-up between New England's Tom Brady and KC's gunslinging Patrick Mahomes promises to be a game for the ages.
Monday, October 15
Bye: Detroit, New Orleans
