9:00 pm Louisiana Tech at #22 BYU (-23 1/2, 56) - This could be a trap game for BYU as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs generally field a good team. They were 10-3 last year and shipped Miami, 14-0 in the Independence Bowl. They've gone to a bowl game each of the past six years and won all of them, so don't expect the Cougars to maul them.
While Tech is 2-0 after topping Southern Miss on the road, 31-30, and last week ripping poor Houston Baptist, 66-38, BYU has the same mark, demolishing Navy, 55-3 and Troy, 48-7. Their defense is a weapon and Tech's offense will have trouble scoring on it. Three TDs, however, seems a bit much. Look for Louisiana Tech to find some ways into the end zone and at least cover, though a win would be a major upset.
Coin Flip: Louisiana Tech
Prediction: Cougars 38 Bulldogs 20
12:00 pm South Carolina at #3 Florida (-17 1/2, 57) - With just one game played by both SEC squads thus far, there's little information to go on, but the Gators 51-35 win at Ole Miss last week is a bit misleading. Florida scored three straight TDs between the second and third quarters to take control of the game at 35-14 before the Rebels got back on track with a pair of 4th quarter scores. Gator receiver Kyle Pitts had eight receptions for 170 years and 4 TDs and is a nightmare matchup.
The Gamecocks opened at home with a 31-27 loss to Tennessee. After the Vols took a 31-24 lead with 9:35 left, the Gamecocks could only muster up a field goal in the final minutes. They rushed for only 89 yards on 35 carries, and that's not going to cut it against the Gators.
Coin Flip: Florida
Prediction: Gators 42 Gamecocks 17
TCU is 0-1, losing their home opener to a solid Iowa State squad, 37-34, so they will be hungry for a victory. If Texas is unable to hold down the Horned Frogs, this could turn into another Texas track meet. TCU QB Max Duggan tossed three TDs on 16-19 passing, so expect him and Texas QB Sam Ehlinger to be flinging at will. Can Texas survive?
Coin Flip: TCU
Prediction: Horned Frogs 38 Longhorns 35
Tennessee, which holds the nation's longest winning streak among power 5 conference teams at seven, survived a scare at South Carolina to start the season 1-0. The Vols won six straight to close out last season, including a Jan 2nd, 23-22, win over Indiana in the Gator Bowl. Tough to see Missouri upending the Vols, who plan on making their home opener a winning one.
Coin Flip: Missouri
Prediction: Volunteers 38 Tigers 17
The Wolfpack doesn't seem to have any teeth on defense. They've allowed 42 and 45 points in their first two games, but managed to win the first, a 45-42 squeaker over Wake Forest. Last week's 45-24 defeat at Virginia Tech was the first of three straight road games. They play at Virginia next week.
Coin Flip: NC State
Prediction: Panthers 33 Wolfpack 13

12:00 pm TCU at #9 Texas (-13, 62 1/2) - Texas was taken into overtime in their 63-56 road win at Texas Tech, so obviously, the defense isn't where it needs to be for the Longhorns and that's going to be a nagging problem in the high octane Big 12.
12:00 pm Missouri at #21 Tennessee (-11 1/2, 48 1/2) - The takeaway from Missouri's 38-19 loss at home to Alabama last week is that the Mizzou need help on offense. They were down 35-3 before the Crimson Tide started pulling starters on defense and allowed two fourth quarter touchdowns.
12:00 pm NC State at #24 Pittsburgh (-14, 47) - Pittsburgh is off to a 3-0 start with Kenny Pickett looking like a pro QB at times. He's thrown for 712 yards and five TDs but has also tossed two picks. Already 2-0 in the ACC with wins over Syracuse, 21-10, and Louisville, 23-20, the Panthers should hold up well defensively and be able to score repeatedly in what is their fourth straight home game.
