3:30 pm Northwestern at #21 Iowa (-10 1/2, 45 1/2) - Iowa has proven little compiling its 6-3 record. They're 3-3 in conference and the wins were against lightweights, Minnesota, Indian, and Maryland. Northwestern is a more balanced and aggressive team, that came up just short against Michigan (20-17) and last week hung with Notre Dame, losing 31-21. They should be giving points rather than getting them.

Coin Flip: Iowa

PREDICTION: Wildcats 28 Hawkeyes 21

3:30 pm Baylor at #22 Iowa State (-14 1/2, 51) - After upending Oklahoma State last week, 35-31, the Bears are 5-4 and looking to become bowl eligible. Not likely to happen against the Cyclones, winners of four straight after a 1-3 start. Losses to Oklahoma, Iowa and TCU are fading memories as Iowa State emerges as one of the top teams in the Big 12.

Coin Flip: Iowa State

PREDICTION: Cyclones 38 Bears 17

3:30 pm #16 Mississippi State at #1 Alabama (-24, 52 1/2) - Alabama shut out LSU in Baton Rouge last week, 29-0, and are clearly the best team in the country. While the Bulldogs may be a solid SEC squad, they are challenged offensively, pointed up by their three losses - to Kentucky, Florida, and LSU - in which they scored a combined 16 points.

Even if MSU can manage a couple of touchdowns against the Tide (unlikely), Alabama may be able to put the pigskin over the goal line four or five times. This may be a somewhat defensive struggle as the teams are both in the top ten nationally, but it's really tough to take a position against the Crimson Tide.

Coin Flip: Alabama

PREDICTION: Crimson Tide 34 Bulldogs 7

3:30 pm Oklahoma State at #6 Oklahoma (-19 1/2, 76 1/2) - Throw out all the stats, the spread on this game is just out of bounds. The Cowboys of OKST don't play much defense, but neither do the Sooners. Oklahoma will likely put up 50 or more, but the Cowboys could easily do the same.

Coin Flip: Oklahoma

PREDICTION: Sooners 52 Cowboys 42

3:30 pm #8 Washington State (-6, 60 1/2) at Colorado - The line here ought to be 20, because the Buffs are not in the same space as the Cougars. Colorado has lost four straight and looked defenseless in their last two, a 41-34 OT loss to Oregon State and a 42-34 defeat at Arizona.

Washington State's elite offense is likely to put the spread to rest in the first quarter and cruise to an easy win.

Coin Flip: Colorado

PREDICTION: Cougars 42 Buffaloes 24

3:30 pm #11 Kentucky (-6, 42 1/2) at Tennessee - Here's another game that isn't likely to be as close as the oddsmakers see it. Kentucky's defense is very solid, despite their 34-17 drubbing against Georgia last week. The Wildcats are #8 in scoring defense, allowing 15.8 points per game. Tennessee is tied for #63, at 26.7. Kentucky should run off with a 14-point win at least.

Coin Flip: Kentucky

PREDICTION: Wildcats 31 Volunteers 13

7:00 pm #24 Auburn at #5 Georgia (-14, 50) - Georgia has just one loss against eight solid wins, and still has aspirations of playing for a national championship. They've knocked off Florida and Kentucky in the last two weeks and Auburn isn't really that good this season. The Tigers are 6-3, and usually hang close, but Georgia is doing everything right at this point in the season and should take this home game handily.

Coin Flip: Auburn

PREDICTION: Bulldogs 38 Tigers 13

7:30 pm Florida State at #3 Notre Dame (-18, 54 1/2) - No contest. The Seminoles should be happy to be in the same stadium as the Irish.

Coin Flip: Notre Dame

PREDICTION: Fighting Irish 45 Seminoles 14

7:30 pm #7 LSU (-13 1/2, 47 1/2) at Arkansas - After being mangled by Alabama last week, 29-0, the Tigers are looking to get back on track and the Razorbacks sure look like willing victims. Losers of seven of nine this season, Arkansas hasn't won a conference game this season, though they did manage 31 points against the Crimson Tide, but Alabama scored 65.

A similar circumstance is in play, as the Tigers are vastly superior and can clamp down defensively.

Coin Flip: LSU

PREDICTION: Tigers 38 Razorbacks 21

7:30 pm #19 Texas (-1 1/2, 63 1/2) at Texas Tech - Both teams can put up scores in a hurry, but Texas Tech is #9 in points per game, scoring at a pace of 42.7. Texas is tied at #40 with Wake Forest (32.3).

The Longhorns have dropped two straight, to Oklahoma State and West Virginia, so this game is crucial to their continued success. At Texas Tech, the Longhorns will have their defense tested - as will the Red Raiders - but home field may not hold much of an edge for Tech. Texas has won five of the last seven. Tough call. Go with the trend.

Coin Flip: Texas Tech

PREDICTION: Longhorns 41 Red Raiders 35

8:00 pm #2 Clemson (-20, 58) at #17 Boston College - Much like #1 Alabama, Clemson has been routinely clobbering opponents, last week ripping the Luoisville Cardinals, 77-16. Since a 27-23 scare against Syracuse, the Tigers have outscored the opposition by a combined 240-36.

Not to say that BC isn't a good football team, but they're no match for Clemson.

Coin Flip: Clemson

PREDICTION: Tigers 48 Eagles 17
