12:30 pm Chicago Bears (-4, 45) at Detroit Lions - Before a national audience on Thursday night, the Bears proved to the nation that they are a team to be taken seriously. Though the final score over Minnesota was 25-20, the Bears were in control throughout. They'll have to throttle down their emotions a little heading to Detroit as conference leaders and not be complacent. The Lions are 4-6 and coming off an upset win over the Panthers (20-19) are still alive and dangerous.
The problem for the Lions will be protecting Matthew Stafford. No team has been able to keep the Bear defensive front out of their backfield. The Bears' offense is becoming more dangerous by the week. The point differential here is important. Chicago is +99. The Lions are -41. Detroit lost at Chicago just two weeks ago, 34-22.
Coin Flip: Detroit
PREDICTION: Bears 30 Lions 17
Colt McCoy finished up against Houston, and threw a TD pass, and he'll have time during the week to work with the starters. The Redskins are 3-1 on the road this season and McCoy has enough experience to not throw the game away. Washington beat Dallas, 20-17, in week seven, and they should be competitive against their divisional rival. Both teams are solid defensively and this could be a low-scoring, field position type of game.
Coin Flip: Washington
PREDICTION: Cowboys 16 Redskins 13
New Orleans owns the league's longest win streak of the season, at nine and running. In their last three wins, they've scored 45, 51, and 48 points. They look good for 40, easily, and should effectively put an end to 4-6 Atanta's season with a big win.
Coin Flip: New Orleans
PREDICTION: Saints 45 Falcons 26
1:00 pm Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals (-3, 47 1/2) - There are a number of good reasons to like the Browns on the road at Cincinnati. First, the Browns have a better point differential (-45 to -56) than the Bengals. Second, Cleveland won their last game handily, ripping the Falcons, 28-16.
Third, the Bengals have lost two straight. They were humiliated at home by New Orleans, 51-14, and lost at Baltimore last week against a first-time rookie starting QB, 24-21. Cincy has also lost four of their last five. The Browns continue to improve while the Bengals are heading for a post-season vacation.
Coin Flip: Cleveland
PREDICTION: Browns 27 Bengals 17
Buffalo comes off a bye week and a road win over the Jets prior to that. They welcome back rookie QB, Josh Allen, and have added some speed to the receiving corps. The Bills look like a solid choice at home.
Coin Flip: Buffalo
PREDICTION: Bills 20 Jaguars 13
The Jets aren't exactly world beaters, but they are at home and also coming off a bye, which gives Josh McCown added time to work with the first team if Sam Darnold isn't ready to go. A monstrous upset is not out of the question.
Coin Flip: New England
PREDICTION: Patriots 30 Jets 23
Incredibly, the Giants are just one game behind them, at 3-7, and have won two straight, but the Eagles blew them out, 34-13, in week six, in the midst of New York's five game losing streak. The two wins the Giants have strung together were against San Fran and Tampa Bay, teams with no defense, #27 and #32, respectively. Philadelphia is at #12 in points allowed (23.1) and that should provide enough of a difference.
Coin Flip: NY Giants
PREDICTION: Eagles 31 Giants 20
This is the biggest point differential on the board this week. The Ravens are +56; Oakland is -123, the worst in the league. Blowout time.
Coin Flip: Oakland
PREDICTION: Ravens 38 Raiders 10
Coin Flip: Tampa Bay
PREDICTION: Buccaneers 34 49ers 23
Beneath the surface, there are problems in Carolina. They've lost two straight, though both were on the road. They are 5-0 at home this season. The Panthers give up too many easy scores and that's going to be a problem against the Seahawks. Seattle has played a rough schedule, with two close losses to the Rams among their losses. Last week's 27-24 win over the Packers was huge and they should carry that momentum into this game.
Coin Flip: Carolina
PREDICTION: Seahawks 27 Panthers 24

Cumulative: Coin: 69-87-5; Rick: 71-85-5
Thursday, November 22
4:30 pm Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys (-7, 41) - This is effectively for first place in the NFC East, and Washington comes into this critical contest without QB Alex Smith, who was put down for the season in last week's 23-21 loss to the Texans.
8:20 pm Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints (-13, 59 1/2) - The good news is that viewers in the Eastern and Central time zones will be able to get to bed early, as the Saints continue to plow through opposing defenses with incredible consistency and power.
Sunday, November 25
1:00 pm Jacksonville Jaguars (-3, 37 1/2) at Buffalo Bills - It's not surprising to see the Jaguars favored agains the Bills, though both teams are just 3-7 on the year. Jacksonville is in complete disarray, however, after losing their sixth straight, 20-16, at home, to the Steelers last week.
1:00 pm New England Patriots (-9 1/2, 46) at New York Jets - The Patriots haven't been dominating teams as they've done in the past and their defense leaves much to be desired. Their point differential is just 44 and they're although they come off a bye week, their last effort was a horrid, 34-10, loss at Tennessee. They are on the road again, there they are just 2-3.
1:00 pm New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (-6, 46) - The Eagles were ripped by the Saints last week, 51-6, and looked not much like reigning Super Bowl champs. At 4-6, Philly hasn't looked the part all season.
1:00 pm Oakland Raiders at Baltimore Ravens (-10 1/2, 42 1/2) - Oakland snapped a five-game losing streak with a 23-21 win at Arizona, but that's not saying much. At 5-5, Baltimore still has wild card aspirations and should be good for the win as Lamar Jackson gets his second start at QB.
1:00 pm San Francisco 49ers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3 1/2, 55) - One might be tempted to just flip a coin on this one, as the Bucs are 3-7 and riding a four game losing streak (and losers of seven of their last eight), but Jameis Winston - who replaced Ryan Fitzpatrick last week and almost brought the Buccanneers back against the Giants in a 38-35 loss - gives Tampa the edge.
1:00 pm Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers (-3, 47) - On the surface, the Panthers seem to be in good shape at 6-4. They're not entertaining any idea of catching 9-1 New Orleans in the NFC South, and likewise, the 5-5 Seahawks aren't thinking much about catching the 10-1 Rams in the West.
