3:30 pm #9 West Virginia (-4 1/2, 73) at Oklahoma State - The Mountaineers come to play week in, week out, and their 8-1 record has them in the thick of the Big 12 title race. A win here would put them in a good spot to consider playing for the conference championship, as they host Oklahoma next week.

The Cowboys have an explosive offense, as do the Mountaineers, but the defense is lacking, ranked #94 in points allowed (31.7). That give west Virginia a big edge. They are #25, allowing 20.9 points per game.

Coin Flip: West Virginia

PREDICTION: Mountaineers 47 Cowboys 31

4:30 pm Oregon State at #18 Washington (-33 1/2, 58) - The Beavers are this year's designated tackling dummy in the PAC-12, having just one conference win (at Colorado, 41-34 OT). It's really tough to choose whether a team ranked #18 can beat a conference foe by 35 this late in the season, so we'll side with the Beavers to at least show up and make somewhat of a game of it for a while. They may be more eager than suggested.

Coin Flip: Oregon State

PREDICTION: Huskies 45 Beavers 17

7:00 pm Duke at #2 Clemson (-28, 57 1/2) - The Blue Devils are already bowl eligible at 7-3, so they can throw everything into this game against the mighty 10-0 Tigers.

Incidentally, Clemson pushed the line (-20) against BC last week, winning 27-7, and, with a win here, they wrap up the ACC Atlantic division. There may be some subs in the second half of this game if Clemson has a large enough lead, which could upset the chalk players.

Duke is no joke of a team. While they are unlikely to win, they could make the Tigers restless.

Coin Flip: Clemson

PREDICTION: Tigers 38 Blue Devils 17

7:00 pm Kansas at #6 Oklahoma (-36, 69) - Despite their 3-7 mark, the Jayhawks aren't that bad, they're just not quality Big 12 material. Their biggest loss was at Texas Tech (48-16) and that's still not equal to the number posted here.

The Sooners are not notable for their defense and Kansas can score points. Take them.

Coin Flip: Oklahoma

PREDICTION: Sooners 51 Jayhawks 23

8:00 pm #24 Cincinnati at #11 UCF (-7, 60 1/2) - Big game in the American Athletic conference for top honors in the East division at stake. The undefeated Knights of UCF - with the nation's longest winning streak of 21 games - host the 9-1 Bearcats.

Cincinnati's only loss was at Temple, a 24-17 OT thriller. Otherwise, they're perfect and powerful, sporting the #7 scoring defense in the country (14.9 ppg) and an offense that puts up 35 points per contest.

If UCF is going to lose a game, this would be the one. In any case, look for the Bearcats to keep things close with heady defense and an opportunistic offense.

Coin Flip: UCF

PREDICTION: Bearcats 23 Knights 21

8:00 pm #16 Iowa State at #15 Texas (-3, 47) - This is a monster Big 12 meeting as both teams have two conference losses and either Oklahoma or West Virginia - each with one conference loss - will lose next week as they play each other.

Thus, a win here could vault the victor into the conference championship. The Longhorns have been the best surprise in the Big 12 and maybe the country, while Iowa state has quietly moved up the rankings week after week. Both teams are clearly going to big bowl games, but Iowa State has found a formula for five straight wins. The Longhorns topped Texas Tech last week, 41-34, but losses to Oklahoma State and West Virginia exposed their vulnerable defense.

Coin Flip: Iowa State

PREDICTION: Cyclones 36 Longhorns 30

10:30 pm Arizona at #8 Washington State (-10 1/2, 62 1/2) - With only a 39-36 loss at USC on September 21 the only blemish on their record, the Cougars are stalking the PAC-12 title and maybe more.

Arizona is a good squad with a 4-3 record in the conference, but they're no match for one of the nation's most explosive offenses. Washington State is also quite solid defensively, allowing 22.1 points per game, and that is second-best in the conference (Cal is #1, 22.1). Could be a big time rout.

Coin Flip: Arizona

PREDICTION: Cougars 41 Wildcats 20
