8:20 pm New Orleans Saints (-7 1/2, 53) at Dallas Cowboys - If any team is going to slow down Drew Brees and the NFL's #1 scoring juggernaut (37.2 ppg), it might be the Cowboys, at home, with the third-best scoring defense (19.4) and tied for the lead in the AFC East.
That's an iffy proposition, as seven of the Saints' 10 wins have been by 10 points or more, the last three by 37, 41, and 14. Dallas is only 23rd in offense, scoring just 21.3 points per game. Gotta go with the hot hand, and that belongs to the Saints.
Coin Flip: New Orleans
PREDICTION: Saints 34 Cowboys 24
1:00 pm Arizona Cardinals at Green Bay Packers (-14 1/2, 44 1/2) - Arizona is struggling badly, having won just two games - both against the 49ers - and they have to travel again after losing at LA to the Chargers, 45-10, last week.
The Packers may have lost all chance at a playoff spot Sunday night, losing to the Vikings, 24-17. They're now 4-6-1, and the best they can do is 9-6-1, which might even be good enough to take their division. It's doable, with Atlanta, Chicago, the Jets and Lions remaining after this game. Ought to be a blowout, even though the Packers aren't very healthy in the secondary.
Coin Flip: Green Bay
PREDICTION: Packers 38 Cardinals 17
Atlanta, at 4-7, has been a major disappointment, and may be out of the playoff picture with a loss here. Matt Ryan has been good enough at QB, but the Falcons are devoid of a running game, with only 914 yards total, better than only the Cardinals. The Ravens have the best defense in the league (18.0 ppg) and if they can't beat a team that can't run the ball, there's something seriously wrong. This could be a major rout.
Coin Flip: Atlanta
PREDICTION: Ravens 31 Falcons 13
However, the Bills have won two straight while the Dolphins have dropped their last two. They haven't met this season, but the Bills won both games last season. Both teams are looking to the future, but the Bills appear to have more upside.
Coin Flip: Miami
PREDICTION: Bills 24 Dolphins 21
The Panthers have lost three straight and have become somewhat predictable on offense, while the defense has had its failings, dropping to to tie at #20 with the Rams, allowing 25.6 points per game. Tampa Bay is 31st, at 30.7.
The Panthers won the first meeting this season, 42-28, but Tampa's at home and Winston seems to have the offense going in the right direction after a 27-9 win over the 49ers.
Coin Flip: Tampa Bay
PREDICTION: Buccaneers 31 Panthers 24
UPDATE: The Bears are starting Chase Daniel again, in place of injured QB Mitch Trubisky. That's a negative for Chicago, but, considering the opposition and the quality of the Chicago defense, it still doesn't remove them from favoritism status.
The Giants are shaky offensively, but their defense will make a game of this. If the Bears can keep their own turnovers to a minimum, their defense may turn a few on the Giants.
Coin Flip: NY Giants
PREDICTION: Bears 24 Giants 17
Houston has a big advantage on defense, where they are 5th in scoring, allowing 20.2 points per game. Cleveland is #22, allowing 25.7, tied with Miami. Offensively, the two are fairly even. Cleveland has been blown out by the Chargers, Steelers, and Chiefs, but Houston's offense isn't quite at the level of those squads.
Coin Flip: Houston
PREDICTION: Texans 27 Browns 23
Denver's still eyeing a playoff spot, though they too are just 5-6. The upside for the Broncos is their defense, which has allowed 19, 22, and 17 points in their last three games, the last two wins over the Chargers and Steelers. With San Fran, Cleveland, Oakland and the Chargers left on the schedule, there's reason for hope.
Coin Flip: Cincinnati
PREDICTION: Broncos 24 Bengals 17
Coin Flip: Indianapolis
PREDICTION: Colts 35 Jaguars 14
Coin Flip: Detroit
PREDICTION: Rams 40 Lions 20

1:00 pm Baltimore Ravens (-1, 49) at Atlanta Falcons - Has the switch from Joe Flacco to Lamar Jackson saved the season in Baltimore? Maybe. The Ravens are 2-0 with Jackson behind center though the wins were both at home and against Cincinnati and Oakland.
1:00 pm Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins (-5, 40) - Miami is 5-6, the Bills are 4-7, so there's not much separating these two also-rans.
1:00 pm Carolina Panthers (-3 1/2, 56) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers - A New Orleans win and a Carollna loss would clinch the division for the Saints. Whether that occurs or not is pretty much up to QBs Cam Newton of the Panthers and Jameis Winston of the Buccaneers.
1:00 pm Chicago Bears (-3 1/2, 43 1/2) at New York Giants - No line presently. Will update as conditions dictate.
1:00 pm Cleveland Browns at Houston Texans (-6, 48) - This looks to be the most honest line on the board and a Cleveland upset would not be out of the question. Houston is home for the second straight week, while the Browns - not the punching bag they've normally been - are on the road again after winning, 35-20, at Cincinnati last week. Prior to that, they topped Atlanta, 28-16. The Browns are a hot commodity right now and the Texans better be on their toes if they want to extend their winning streak to nine.
1:00 pm Denver Broncos (-4 1/2, 43) at Cincinnati Bengals - With starting QB Andy Dalton out for the season, the Bengal offense will be led by Jeff Driskel, who got some PT in Cincy's 35-20 loss to Cleveland last week. He threw for 155 yards on 17-for-29 passing with one TD and no interceptions. Unproven, he's going to be a major fall-off from Dalton's steady hand. At 5-6, the Bengals may be on he way to a long vacation.
1:00 pm Indianapolis Colts (-4, 47 1/2) at Jacksonville Jaguars - The Jaguars have lost seven straight. The Colts have won five in a row. Tough call? Not.
1:00 pm Los Angeles Rams (-10, 54 1/2) at Detroit Lions - The Lions managed to find a way to lose (again) on Thanksgiving, dropping a 23-16 decision at home to the Bears. The Rams continue to be the Rams, one of the most talented teams in the league on offense, though the defense is somewhat deficient. Hard to see Detroit keeping pace with LA, especially coming off a bye.
