NFL Week 14 Late Games
All times Eastern
4:05 pm Cincinnati Bengals at Los Angeles Chargers (-14, 47 1/2) - The Bengals are yet another team playing with a second stringer at quarterback. Seriously, Jeff Driskel is no match for the prowess of LA's Phillip Rivers, who led the Chargers to a huge, 33-30, win at Pittsburgh last Sunday night.
You'll have to spot the Bengals a pair of touchdowns if you like the Chargers, who will probably win by 30.
Coin Flip: LA Chargers
PREDICTION: Chargers 41 Bengals 10
Coin Flip: San Francisco
PREDICTION: Broncos 31 49ers 7
Coin Flip: Arizona
PREDICTION: Cardinals 21 Lions 14
The Cowboys dusted the Eagles, 27-20, in week 10, and their defense is at the top of its game after nullifying Drew Brees and the Saints, 13-10 last Thursday. Dallas has had extra prep time and they're solid at home with a 5-1 mark. Could be the end of the line for the Eagles, though Philly is likely to stay close.
Coin Flip: Dallas
PREDICTION: Cowboys 24 Eagles 20
Pittsburgh's defense is vulnerable, however, allowing 23.5, though the offense can really rip. They're #4, at 28.8 points per game. The feeling is that the Raiders are starting to come around, coach Gruden having made many roster changes, getting rid of the dead wood, so to speak. This could be closer than anybody in Pittsburgh would like.
Coin Flip: Oakland
PREDICTION: Raiders 31 Steelers 29
While much has been said and written about the Bears' defense, the Rams aren't bad at stopping the other guys either. They're ranked #19 in points allowed, giving up 24.8 per game, while Chicago yields just 20.1. The Rams have been in some serious shoot-outs with Seattle (twice), Green Bay, New Orleans, and Kansas City, so their stats are a bit skewed on defense. Also, nobody has an answer for Todd Gurley, so the Rams may just put a hurting on the Bears in chilly Chicago. Ought to be a good one.
Coin Flip: LA Rams
PREDICTION: Rams 31 Bears 24
8:15 pm Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks (-3, 45 1/2) - The Vikings flopped badly in a big way last week in New England, losing at New England, the Patriots taking a 24-10 victory and now they have to play on the road again, all the way across the country.
Seattle hasn't been it's usual self at home, with a 3-2 mark thus far, but the team has been improving week by week, and they're now in position for a wild card with three consecutive wins. Their defense should be able to handle Minnesota's sluggish offense and make it four straight.
Coin Flip: Seattle
PREDICTION: Seahawks 23 Vikings 13

Week 14 Early Games
4:05 pm Denver Broncos (-5 1/2, 45 1/2) at San Francisco 49ers - Denver is 6-6 and seeking a wild card spot, while the 49ers are 2-10 and seeking a travel agent to make off-season vacation plans. The 49ers could win this game and Nancy Peolsi could come a Republican, though neither have much of a possibility of happening.
4:25 pm Detroit Lions (-2 1/2, 40 1/2) at Arizona Cardinals - Ugly is what this game is. 4-8 Lions favored at the 3-9 Cardinals? And Arizona is getting points? Well, the Cards just put the kibosh on the Packers in Green Bay last week, so they might as well do it to another NFC North squad.
4:25 pm Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys (-3 1/2, 43) - This is about as good as it gets in the NFC East. 7-5 Dallas has a one-game lead over 6-6 Philadelphia, and an Eagles loss could put a return to the playoffs by the reigning champs in serious jeopardy.
4:25 pm Pittsburgh Steelers (-10 1/2, 51 1/2) at Oakland Raiders - The Raiders found some offense last week, losing to the Chiefs, 40-33, though their defense still leaves much to be desired. The Oakland defenders rank 31st of 32 teams in points allowed, giving away 30.6 per game.
8:20 pm Los Angeles Rams (-3, 52) at Chicago Bears - Mitch Trubisky is likely to start for the Bears after Chicago lost a heart-breaker in New York to the Giants last week, dropping a 30-27 score in overtime with Chase Daniel behind center. Whether Trubisky plays or not, the Rams will still put up points, as they've done quite well every week.
