Week 9 Results: Rick: 5-9; Coin: 10-4
Thursday, November 18
New England Patriots (-6 1/2, 47) at Atlanta Falcons 8:20 pm - Of the four wins the Falcons have this season, only one team (New Orleans) has a winning record (5-4). Last week's 43-3 drubbing at Dallas was a display of offensive ineffectiveness.
New England's won four straight, challenging the Bills in the AFC East. Most Thursday night games have been close, though the last two have been by double digits. Look for New England to be very aggressive on defense. They've allowed just 13 points in their last two games.
Coin Flip: New England
Prediction: Patriots 31 Falcons 13
Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills (-7, 50) 1:00 pm - The Bills are among the AFC elite, but the Colts, now 5-5, have won five of their last seven, the two losses in overtime (Baltimore, Tennessee).
The last meeting between these two was in a wild card game last season, at Buffalo, with the Bills coming out on top, 27-24. This one looks to be similar.
Coin Flip: Indianapolis
Prediction: Bills 24 Colts 20
The Panthers destroyed the Cardinals (sans Kyler Murray), 34-10, getting back to 5-5 and very much alive in the NFC South. That 1/2 extra point the Panthers are giving may come into play.
Coin Flip: Carolina
Prediction: Panthers 24 Football Team 21
The Bears were on a bye last week, so maybe they've devised a way to end their four-game losing streak. They are 2-2 at home, so that's a plus, but the offense still needs a lot of work. If the Ravens get off early, they could run away.
Coin Flip: Baltimore
Prediction: Ravens 34 Bears 17
Cleveland's offense should provide enough distance to keep the lions at bay.
Coin Flip: Detroit
Prediction: Browns 30 Lions 13
Jacksonville is still a 2-7 team without much offense. the 49ers defense may be coming around at the right time.
Coin Flip: Jacksonville
Prediction: 49ers 31 Jaguars 16
Aaron Rodgers is playing like he should, with the guile and savvy of a seasoned pro. Key game for both teams, but the Packers have a clear edge.
Coin Flip: Green Bay
Prediction: Packers 27 Vikings 20
With Tua Tagovailoa back, they have a good shot at taking down the Jets.
Coin Flip: NY Jets
Prediction: Dolphins 24 Jets 17
As a whole, the Eagles are one of the healthier teams in the league, and they've remained competitive, winning at Denver last week, 30-13, to get to 4-6, and very much alive for a playoff spot.
Coin Flip: Philadelphia
Prediction: Eagles 24 Saints 19
Coin Flip: Tennessee
Prediction: Titans 34 Texans 14

Sunday, November 21
Washington Football Team at Carolina Panthers (-3 1/2, 43) 1:00 pm - This should be quite contentious, with CamNewton back with the Panthers and the Football Team coming off a 29-19 win over the Buccaneers.
Baltimore Ravens (-4 1/2, 45) at Chicago Bears 1:00 pm - The Ravens haven't looked right all season. Four of their six wins have been by two points or fewer or in overtime.Their 22-10 loss at Miami last Thursday was a disaster, the offense non-existent.
Detroit Lions at Cleveland Browns (-11 1/2, 43 1/2) 1:00 pm - The Lions stumbled their way into a tie with Pittsburgh last week while the Browns were being decomposed by the Patriots, 45-7. Baker Mayfield is pretty banged up, but is a confident starter Sunday.
San Francisco 49ers (-6, 45) at Jacksonville Jaguars 1:00 pm - Both teams are coming off good performances, though the Jags fell short, 23-17, at Indianapolis, while the 49ers rose from nearly dead to upend the Rams, 31-10. Now at 4-5 and the NFC West race tightening, San Francisco has a path to the playoffs, including a win here and they should get it.
Green Bay Packers (-1 1/2, 47 1/2) at Minnesota Vikings 1:00 pm - Sorry, Vikings fans, this is where the road ends. Minnesota has had multiple opportunities this season and has cashed in on few. Green Bay continues to look like the best team in the NFC, and, in fact, with an 8-2 mark, are tied with Arizona for the #1 position.
Miami Dolphins (-3 1/2, 44 1/2) at NY Jets 1:00 pm - 3-7 Dolphins at 2-7 Jets. Admittedly, the Dolphins looked pretty good putting down the Ravens last Thursday, but can they win three straight?
New Orleans Saints at Philadelphia Eagles (-1 1/2, 43) 1:00 pm - The Saints have come up two points short in each of their last two games, login 27-25 to Atlanta, and 23-21, last week at Tennessee. Saints may get Alvin Kamara back after a one-week absence.
Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans (-10, 44 1/2) 1:00 pm - Even without Derrick Henry, the Titans are far superior to the hapless Texans in this divisional clash. Tennessee won both meetings last season, but that was when Houston had DeShaun Watson at QB. Tyrod Taylor returned from injury two weeks ago, but the Texans still lost at Miami, 17-9, and had a bye last week.
