LA Chargers (-1 1/2, 50) at Philadelphia Eagles 4:05 pm - Tough game to pick. Both teams are in at least a wild card hunt, have good offenses, reliable defenses, though not great. Eagles are surprisingly 0-3 at home, but got a boost last week defeating the Lions, 44-6. They've already lost to two AFC West teams - Kansas City, and Las Vegas.

The Chargers have lost two straight, humbled at Baltimore, 34-6, and upended at home last weekend by the Patriots, 27-24. Justin Herbert gets all the glamor press; Jalen Hurts is just steady. Homers getting points seems reasonable.

Coin Flip: Philadelphia

Prediction: Eagles 27 Chargers 25

Green Bay Packers at Kansas City Chiefs (-1, 54 1/2) 4:25 pm - Game of the week has Green Bay visiting KC, where they Chiefs are just 4-4 and trying to remain relevant, though they're only two games out of first place. With Minnesota losing the the Cowboys Sunday night, the 7-1 Packers have a 3 1/2 game bulge in the division, so they don't need a win here.

Aaron Rodgers seems to be having a lot of fun, while his Allstate running mate, Patrick Mahomes, is looking like a "typical sneaker head."

Coin Flip: Kansas City

Prediction: Packers 34 Chiefs 27

Green Bay Packers at Kansas City Chiefs (-7 1/2, 54 1/2) 4:25 pm - Game of the week has Green Bay visiting KC, where they Chiefs are just 4-4 and trying to remain relevant, though they're only two games out of first place. With Minnesota losing the the Cowboys Sunday night, the 7-1 Packers have a 3 1/2 game bulge in the division, so they don't need a win here.

Aaron Rodgers seems to be having a lot of fun, but he won't be in the game, ruled out with an infection. Backup Jordan Love will take snaps for the Packers in his first NFL start. Rodgers' Allstate running mate, Patrick Mahomes, is looking like a "typical sneaker head," but without Rodgers, the Packers are up against it.

Coin Flip: Kansas City

Prediction: Chiefs 34 Packers 17

Tennessee Titans at LA Rams (-7, 53 1/2) 8:20 pm - The Titans may have lost RB Derrick Henry for the season, but they've picked up stud veteran Adrian Peterson has been signed. Tennessee has won four straight and has a healthy lead in the AFC South after dusting Indy in OT, 34-31.

The Rams just keep on rolling along, also winning their fourth in a row, though they have to deal with Arizona in the NFC West. Both are 7-1.

Even without Henry, the Titans can compete. The defense has improved, and the Titans are very adept at making changes on the fly. Resilient. Should be closer to an even game, taking the points.

Coin Flip: Tennessee

Prediction: Rams 27 Titans 22

Monday, November 8

Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6 1/2, 40) 8:15 pm - The supposed dominance of the Bears' defense is shattered by statistics. They allow 24.4 points per game, tied with Tennessee at #22 league-wide. Meanwhile, their offense has been hideous, averaging 15.4, 31st in the league.

Pittsburgh's offense is not much better, scoring just 18.9 points per outing, but they are more disciplined offensively. Chicago does not finish games well, as evidenced by their last three games, all losses.

Coin Flip: Chicago

Prediction: Steelers 24 Bears 10
